Did they find A way to regroup? we are seeing battle droids in the new cannon(darth vader#2)Were they sold to the rebels? One of the least hatted aspects of the prequel trilogy being the battle droids. Also if the Munn Darth Plagues is the main baddie it makes sense because if im not mistaken the munn were a race of investment bankers.investment bankers are smart con artist types and probably figured out palpitates scheme.Maybe plagues returns with A droid army after the republic and empire cripple each other with the speculated super weapons. Also the way Plagues is canon in tarkin cant we assume that it was his money funded the trade federation invasion of naboo.Darth Vader just killed oft the leaders. You mean to tell me that officials in the CIS after the Mustafar incident didn't think to relocate and rebuild over time.

I don't think there is any systems left to recognize it since the fall of the republic.

As new movies and spin-off fiction are released we'll no doubt gain a wider understanding of how this post-RotJ civilisation operates, but for now it looks like Episode 7 is heavily mining Episode 4's style, so it's less corporate corruption and more Wild West blasters-blazing, running and screaming.

The CIS if it still exists it would side with the republic.

I just got done reading Tarkin and the book did mention that they were killing off the remnants of the CIS and that any planet that sided with them during the war faced heavy sanctions. Darth Sidious made sure that the CIS would never comeback using fear and imperial propaganda. By the time SW VII comes out I doubt their existence will be knowledgeable to most in the galaxy.
