Hear me out. We've all been speculating about who will play Han Solo in this film. What if the casting rumors are just to throw us off? Phil Lord and Chris Miller have had a lot of success in animation. What if this movie is animated? Now we technically had a theatrically released animated Star Wars film in The Clone Wars. While more of a pilot for a show, you could make the argument that it falls into the "anthology film" category. Now I'm not sure if Disney/Lucasfilm has explicitly said whether it's for sure live action or not, but it's cool to think about. Casting Han Solo wouldn't really be an issue at that point. But I'm not sure how the general public would react. Thoughts?

There was an animated Han Solo short film in TCW style of animation during CV in 2010 and it was freakin awesome ...

And if you animated it or did a LEGO style, they could potentially get Harrison back for voicing.

I honestly don't buy that line of thinking, but I wish you were right. I can't help but think about how the story in this movie would be better served in another format, whether it be books or comics, animation, or even in a video game. The fact is though, big budget live action films are seen as more legitimate by the general movie going audience, unless it is a more kid oriented movie. Most movie-going audiences just aren't open minded enough when it comes to different storytelling formats.

Is this from CV? I saw it there in Orlando, Florida in 3D and even have the official posters for it. I believe that film students at Universal made it .

Well it was rumored that Rogue One would have a CG Peter Cushing. If that happens and it looks good, maybe they will do a Benjamin Button situation and model a new face on the live action actor they have as the stand in for him. The movie is far enough out that the technology could be improved by then.

Harrison voicing youngish Han? Harrison Ford has aged well but he doen't sound like 80s Harrison Ford anymore.

    Here you go.
:The winner of the prize for Best Animated fan film at Star Wars Celebration V and was presented in 3D during the convention. "The Solo Adventures" tells the tale of how Han Solo dropped his cargo at the first sign of an Imperial Cruiser. But of course there is a lot more to the story! This film was a class project by students at the DAVE School of digital Arts and Visual Effects in Orlando Fla. This version of the film is not the same as the one that appears on Atom films.com. This version is the primed and polished HD version that was shown at Star Wars Celebration V (minus the 3D conversion.) Much thanks goes to the folks over at the DAVE School for giving us the opportunity to post this amazing film!
Star Wars is Copyright Lucasfilm and all credit for this fan film goes to the students and staff of the DAVE School.:

Yes they could create a cartoon series if the fans wanted it, there is always a plan b with these guys if the spin-off flopped which I doubt would they may want to show us some adventures from his much younger life.
