Just a quick note, question, and then idea.

The note: this show takes place six months before TFA. That's not a lot of time for a season, let alone an entire series without some serious finagling.

So the question is, could - or should - Resistance cross over into TFA and TLJ territory ala the Poe Dameron comics (or Forces of Destiny)? On one hand, this would be great. The series gets a chance to be a longer show, and the movies would certainly allow for maturity.

On the other hand, they'd really have to explain why Kaz and his friends didn't answer the distress call Leia sent out (although an excuse could be pretty simple - their base was taken over that episode or arc and they couldn't respond).

On the third hand it'd allow for crossover with Zay's mission in the Battlefront II Inferno Squad storyline pretty organically (especially if they're not too keen on a Battlefront III).

Long story short, there are pros and cons to this idea. So what do you think? Should Resistance exist concurrently with TFA and TLJ?

Considering they're exploring what the other Resistance pilots were doing during the evacuation, then following whoever survives this undercover mission through TFA and into the Outer Rim would be a good idea.

Agreed, It'd give us a look at what's going on elsewhere while we're seeing TFA happening, just to widen the scope of the conflict to other systems so it doesn't seem so localized to what we've already seen.

Just make it a good story and a lot will be forgiven with the rest.
    It's fantasy.

What can I say, it's a big GFFA to explore, I can't imagine where it goes and how it does not contradict with Dameron comic arc, but OK, Poe can appear at the beginning of the show just to bring more explanation to the plot, and then go searching for Lorr.

Zey is an interesting theory though, I can see it happens and I like it. SOLD!

Yes, it certainly should, just as many arcs do and we, die hard fans and followers, gonna love it, especially when it goes after TLJ. Such great day to be a Star Wars fan! Cheers y'all!

The show would grow stale if it's just spying and wacky races until a predetermined outcome. I expect Kaz to discover First Order's plan, fail to deliver his intel in time and then the FO would come, trash the station and force to go elsewhere and, well, resist. Moving past TLJ would provide almost limitless creative freedom and let the show truly shine.

Or make 'Resistance' a finite series of just one or two seasons and then move on to something else.

I think I would've preferred this series to start more than just 6 months before The Force Awakens and then have the entire series take place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
