SPECULATION Could R2/3PO make a cameo?

I'd guess no on 3-po. If he were in it, I think we'd have heard some snarky-baiting comment that he can't talk about it on Twitter or something...

 

I think it all depends on if they are on the rebel base during that time...but since it's supposed to lead right up to ANH and Leia was with the droids on The Tantive IV on her way to the base, presumably, then I think it's a very slim chance
..

 

If the eniding leads right into ANH then it's possible that we see the rebels boarding the Tantive IV and R2 with them.
Another possibility is that R2 is at the base with Bail since in Rebels we see (twice) that he uses R2 for secret or risky missions and really trusts him.

 

Hold on Bail Organa is in Rebels N ?!

 

He had two brief cameos in the second and last episodes of the 1st season which really connect the siries to the movies

 

I think it is a possibility that we see the droids. Especially R2. I would expect the movie is going to end with the plans being transmitted to the Tantive IV. MSW also has stated on their podcast that there are rumors of there being a young Leia in the movie. If that turns out to be true then I think the chances we see the droids will go up.

 

If we see the interior of Tantive IV or rebels boarding it we'll probably see them from a distance but no more than that.

 

They are the only two that have been in every movie and series (short of the Ewoks) that I recall. It would be easy, so I don't know why they wouldn't.

 

I could see them making an appearance with Bail, why not!

 

I hope see them in it NH was their getaway moment, so they will sure will be involved in R1.

 

If the droids are technically nowhere near the set of this film (Tatooine or something), then they probably won't. But maybe they're in the background on a "droids for sale" wall. I honestly have no clue. A Boba Fett cameo would be nice though...

 

We know from Rebels that C3PO and R2D2 are owned by Bail Organa (or Captain Antilles) at this point in time.

Oddly enough, C3PO does not seem to know who Princess Leia is when Luke asks about her after seeing her hologram ("I'm afraid I'm not quite sure, sir. I think she was a passenger on our last voyage. A person of some importance, sir - I believe."), yet, on Tantive IV, he says to R2D2 that "there'll be no escape for the princess this time."

 

Doesn't he admit to R2 he lied to Luke later on?

 

3PO knew exactly who Leia was all along; he was being careful with Luke and Ben - after all unlike R2 he had his memory wiped at the end of Ep III so may not have been aware of who they were.

 

You could be right; I just do not see intentionally withholding information as one of C3PO's qualities.

Bail Organa cannot be on the base, because he is on Alderaan: in ANH, we clearly ear Leia urge Artoo to give the plans to Obiwan and ask him to deliver them to his father, on Alderaan. His father is Bail of course.
And we know the rebel base is not located on Alderaan.

I think they will find some reason to show them, perhaps a scene they stand close to Bail Organa, as Jimmy Smits has announced he was casted in R1. By the end of ROTS we know the two droids belong to Bail, and that was confirmed in 2 episodes of Rebelz.

 

I definitely think they'll feature at the end... I think that'd be great.

 

If they do appear it will have to be stationed near the Tantive IV on a docking platform.
