The theory in the video doesnt make any sense at all as there is not any real argument presented.
Is it possible, yes..but so is Force-adoption..in where Luke's adopts her and so she become's a Skywalker.
    Sounds silly right?

Like others have said, it's possible, but I don't think SW would go there plot-wise. We haven't seen anything like it before in the SW universe, but I could totally be wrong. I think it's unlikely...

I don`t think so as Disney seems to distance themselves from the PT and that the average movie-goer wouldn`t enjoy it.
I like the theory but would not like to see it onscreen. The force creates beings extremly strong in the force when a new evil force rises. The force tries to balance between light and dark, good and evil. Originally Kylo could have been the one who was going to keep the galaxy in balance between dark and light but failed. Rey was instead the one who had to take that role. When Anakin feel to dark Luke was born and saved the galaxy. Every generation got a hero, Rey is the one of this generation.
Anakin is to this day a force-ghost and have not entered a new body as Palpatine did in Dark Empire. Rey is not the reincarnation of Anakin.
    Interesting altough, I`ll admit that.

It's the best theory on Rey's origins imo (without that sand planet purgatory nonsense). Rey being Luke's daughter is too obvious an boring.

Posted this in response to the theory in another thread:

It's the spirit of the Chosen One - that's how I read it at least. Heck, maybe there have been many over the years?
Or even if it is just Anakin reborn/his energy reborn, I think it works for two reasons:

    1) The balance of the Force has been disturbed again so the Force would surely require The Chosen One to emerge once more and restore balance. Therefore, it's simply the energy that has always been there that becomes The Chosen One in the flesh. This would also explain the miraculous conception idea further.
    2) Anakin did bring balance and in doing so fulfilled his destiny. That is what the Chosen One is for. Although it isn't fate. They can reject it. But along the way, Anakin did many evil things that even in fulfilling his destiny, he couldn't undo. This means that the energy/spirit of The Chosen One is tainted. Thus requires cleansing. The Chosen One in the flesh, Rey, must now then face the same challenges that the original Chosen One failed in and thus truly make the spirit pure again. This spirit must go on a literal hero's journey and this time be successful in the challenges it failed in before. She must also put an end to the evil in the galaxy that would not have existed if Anakin had remained on the right path - The Empire becoming the FO, for example.

So where does this fit in with Snoke?
This is for me why Snoke is hell bent on destroying Skywalker. He knows that The Chosen One can only be a threat if trained to be a Jedi. By the last Jedi - Luke. He knows if Luke is found, the new Jedi will rise and The Chosen One will then fulfill his or her destiny. This is all links into the awakening Snoke feels (it's The Chosen One coming into the fore again) and why he becomes concerned and incensed when he hears about Rey:

    "Bring her to me!".

It's probably also why he watched and seduced Kylo from a young age - he might have believed the Skywalker lineage was the lineage of The Chosen One.
Kylo might also believe this - but from the POV of evil - being The Chosen One of the Dark Side so to speak.
But Snoke knows the truth. He knows what Rey is and what she will do.
It's also probably why Luke has gone off searching for the First Jedi Temple - finding out about the origins of The Chosen One lore as discovered by the Whills...

I actually can't stand that movie! But I know what you're getting at.
But essentially this is an age old messianic story.
We see it in The Matrix with Neo. He's essentially the Chosen One reborn.

I'm not saying this theory is right, just that it makes sense and is actually rather poetic.

Reincarnations and reiterations and bound occur, especially where past lessons are not learnt (or remembered) and history condemns ignorance through the repetition of unrecognized and unresolved mistakes.

Anakin, then Luke, then Rey, each learning from before, points along a line which is a continuum of Force users and traditions extending before and after them.

Much of this can be explored via our own world's concepts of karma and reincarnation:

    http://people.howstuffworks.com/karma.htm/printable

    http://people.howstuffworks.com/reincarnation.htm/printable

Rey can be a figurative reiteration of Luke and Anakin without being a physical reincarnation.

The good actions (good karma) of the Jedi help to counterbalance the bad actions (bad karma) of the Sith, but, being less than God-like and therefore imperfect, the Jedi are prone to occasional bad karma.

Eventually this causes imbalance and introduces darkness: Anakin's incomplete training and headstrong ways, combined with his proneness to influence from Palpatine, set him and the Jedi on a path toward failure.

So numb have the Jedi become that they cannot sense Palpatine suggests they have already begun to falter way before Anakin entered the picture with enough influence to tip the balance.

What's amazing, I think, is that Luke's incompleteness and imperfections somehow work out to counterbalance this enough to afford him a moment to help him redeem his father and his father to redeem himself.

If Rey is a continuation of this imperfection, it can lead to positive and negative things which ensure the cycle continues, with respect to the Skywalker timeline (if she is indeed a Skywalker), indefinitely.

The cyclical nature of our universe certainly resonates in the Star Wars universe, and with similar results and repercussions: what one generation does not learn or resolve must be dealt with again and again.

To end the cycle of suffering not only "the deepest commitment, the most serious mind," as Yoda suggests to Luke, but also a mindfulness of the Living Force and the moment and focused-determined-realities as Qui-Gon Jinn explained to young Anakin and a larger mindset yet that is perhaps to be understood only by Luke, Rey, and their successors.

The same can be said of our own world: we must not give into fear, anger, or hatred. We should attempt to achieve a new mindfulness, a sharper focus on the moment and momentousness of our thoughts and words and actions (karma) beyond the present, learning wherever we can how to find balance and peace in our own lives while offsetting darkness with light, ignorance with wisdom.

Only then can we begin to hope the mistakes of past and current generations will not be willingly passed on to the next for them to grapple with. Only then does history begin to heal the present and give promise to the future. And only then do reincarnations become unnecessary.

I think they've just let some parallels slip in, some people have picked up on it and connected their own dots. I don't think I could remain sat in the cinema if it turned out that Rey is Anakin reborn. Her ties with every other character would end up in complete tatters and if they wanted to do another trilogy, where would they go with it?

Part of me likes some of these theories, but part of me also fears she'll lose some of her own character if this is the case. It's one thing to be the next generation, to be the next in line from the previous heroes, it's another thing to just be that same character all over again. The character loses some of her strength if she's just another vessel for Anakin.

Cool idea but one I hope ultimately doesn't play out.

You don't remember your past lifes when you come back. I really don't see your point.

If the Force itself decides to live through a human, where is the problem ?

Maybe yourself had past lifes who knows ? Does that make your incomfortable in this one ?

just as a note (and obviously they changed this for the movie, so we're free to reinterpret), but in the book, Snoke's intention with Rey is very clear that he intends to torture her and make Kylo Ren watch as punishment.

it's actually quite heinous and there's no sense whatsoever that he wants her for any other purpose or senses some greater significance to her existence.

    ...for whatever that's worth...

I'm not about to get into whether or not I believe in past lives, and that's not what I was getting at. A young girl being the reincarnation of a half human sith lord would be too much a mind blower for her, for the other characters and a step too far for viewers in my opinion.

Yes, it's a route they could quite possibly go down and it's not for me to rule out. But I'd rather they didn't go in that direction with Rey's backstory.
