SPECULATION Could Sydow be playing an old Bail Organa (maybe half-cybernetic)?

    I haven't seen this train of thought being entertained yet. Hear me out on this one:

    Everyone believes that he was killed when the Death Star blew up the planet Alderaan. However, we technically never saw him in ANH, nor did we ever hear that he was physically on that planet at the time that it was blown up. For all we know, he could've been elsewhere on some Rebellion mission. We the audience don't really have much to go by other than the assumption that we was present there.

    But what if we were wrong this whole time? What if he was elsewhere and then 30+ years later, he reappears trying to be this wise old caregiver to Rey? He reappeared to Leia at some point and because of his health and age, needed to be fitte with cybernetic equipment to continue living?

    Thoughts? Or is this a completely farfetched train of thought?

    [and yes, I know that there hasn't been any rumors suggesting anything as such but still, it's kind of fun playing this guessing game]

    ...which explains immediately how he came to obtain Luke's saber. It also explains the rumors that he was "cybernetic" and it explains why he's a "vicar" type character since his role was always that of a guardian/administrator.

    These ridiculous theories will come true and you will owe me a cookie when they do.
