Since there is going to be a thirty year gap between ROTJ and Episode VII. I know that there will be books or comics set between ROTJ and Episode VII starting around the fall of 2015. But is disney planning something epic in that timeframe like a new sequel/prequel movie trilogy? A Post-ROTJ animated series would be fun. But I think would be more awesome since Episode VII may have some dark moments like Luke Skywalker becoming the Inquisitor. It would be fun if you had an epic live-action movie trilogy set between Episodes VI and VII with the further adventures of Luke,Han and Leia but with new actors playing them much like the recent Star Trek Reboot films by J.J. Abrams with new actors playing Kirk,Spock and co. If that could work for Star Trek there's no reason it couldn't work for Star Wars. You could bring Abrams back to direct the trilogy.

If Episodes X-XII won't be released in 2027(SW's 50th anniversary). I think an excellent alternative would be the sequel/prequel trilogy set between ROTJ and Episode VII with new actors playing younger Luke,Han and Leia.

The plot of a sequel/prequel trilogy set between VI and VII could be how about Luke turned to the dark side and became the Inquisitor and/or how he disappeared or why he went into exile.

I don't think there should be live action movies set between Jedi and Ep 7. If they wanted to set movies in that time period then Ep 7 would be during that time.
A cartoon movie or series with the original actors doing the voices would be more likely in my opinion.

    Luke as the Inquisitor ?!?!

I can totes see a film or a live action cable series that fills in the 30 year gap. If it's to involve the OT characters, I'm inclined to think that would be reserved for film as they're clearly a bigger draw. Then again, the word 'prequel' has become soooo loaded in Star Wars land, they may avoid that time period for the forseeable future.

Also, didn't mean to ridicule Luke as the Inquisitor.... It's just the first time I've read someone put forward that theory. There have been plenty of threads and posts about Luke maybe turning to the gray side... Perhaps even being the secret villain... But no one has ever said Luke as Inquisitor. Kudos, we live for original guesstimations like these.

There may be spin-off films in that time period but not those of the saga films. They will leave that for live-action television, novels, comics, and cartoons. If they would have made VII, VIII, and IX, back in the late 80's and early 90's they would have been in that time period. That 's what I like about the old EU is that that time is filled in, right now it's a big ?.

    I voted both:
Yes, I think there will be movies set in that time period
No, I don't think it would be sequel/prequel trilogies (namely, "Episodes"), but just spin-off movies

No, I don't want to see new actors playing the Original Characters.

But... do you guys know Animatrix? Some animation in that style would be cool to fill in the 30 years gap.

I do not believe they would ever make a sequel-prequel trilogy because that would just be weird. What I do believe they would do is make another television series after they complete the ST and finish up Star Wars Rebels. Another animated series would make sense and they would be able to tell the stories of Han, Leia, Luke and at the same time maybe bring some characters back from the EU like Thrawn and Mara.

It could answer questions that will come as a result of VII, however there is also the worry of revealing too much. I think one of things that makes Star Wars great is the uncertainty that it conveys. As strange as that might sound it was the 'mystery' that made it wonderful.

This one element is why I think Disney will get what we want as a community of avid Star Wars enthuisist...Disney understands the 'magic' of uncertainty and the hope of holding onto a 'magical' understanding of the unknown. Think of Fantasia, etc...though these stories are kids stories that get the 'mystery' that we have always loved with Star Wars.

We didn't need to know how Yoda lifted the X-Wing out in ESB...we wanted to believe in the supernatural and quite frankly like the uncertainty because it makes us feel as if we might have some hidden potential in us....

After saying all this I think I am changing my vote to a NO!
