There's been a lot of discussion on "plot hole" and questionable decisions made by characters in TLJ, so I was happy to see Cracked try their hand at taking on answering them.

As I've said before, I have my own issues with TLJ, but it's pretty refreshing to see some of the criticisms of this film dismissed by a comedy website.

    Some of my favorite moments:

Of course, there are some moments where Cracked admittedly doesn't have an answer

And then, of course there's some straight up comedy:

Ultimately, not a whole lot of new stuff here, but I appreciate the comedic tone ant the way that it does indulge both sides a little bit (even if it has a heavy apologist lean). There is one point that I've personally never heard before, and that's the one about Lucas and Luke:

Anyway, I think this article has a lesson for us all- learn to laugh at ourselves.

Are the people that are overanalyzing everything and constantly whining online being obnoxious? Yes, yes they are.

Are the people defending the movie online and who won't hear a criticism about it also being obnoxious? Yeppers.

It's Star Wars. We all love the series (I can only assume, here) and it's near and dear to us, but sometimes it's just kind of stupid. Not a single Star Wars film is perfect, but sometimes they're perfect to us, and as much as that sounds like a Kylo Ren quote, it's totally sincere.

So, maybe we can all take a step back, realize how much time we've been fighting over the logistics of a two and a half hour space fantasy movie, and decide that sometimes (no matter what side you're on) it's okay to laugh at yourself. ;)

To me this movie is a trully masterpiece.
But I understand that are so many stranges and diffenrents scenes that made people hate it.

Cracked is a great website. David Wong is one of the best writers they have. If you have never read the book John Dies at the end, do so it is great. Love the fact that most of the staff are SW fans.

Haven't read it yet, but I thought the movie was pretty good. I'll have to give it a shot!

The movie ends about 2/3s the way through the book and it has some great squeals.

I took a week or two break from this website a while back and it did me a load of good. Didn't even think of SW for more than 10 days gave me some perspective when I eventually came back.

It is just a movie. I don't like it and probably never will, but I can accept that just like I don't like Welcome to the Dollhouse. That said, I found it hurt my fandom a bit overall. I still love the OT, and to me that will be the best of SW. I've come to realize and expect SW to never capture that magic (for me anyways) the way the OT did. That's fine, now I only hope they can come up with movies I can enjoy and not walk away from feeling like I did leaving TLJ.

I've had a strange and unique journey. I went from hating it, to trying really hard to at least like aspects of it, to just stepping back and realizing it's a useless endeavor. I've come accept it as a movie I dislike, but oddly, I think the shell I could appreciate, it's mostly some creative ideas RJ took has lead me to how I feel. So I can still appreciate and wonder what's coming next, I'm just not as invested as I was before.

wow, interesing to hear. Good if you found a way to get over TLJ. I did not achieve something like that and for me it ruined my enthusiasm for Star Wars with nothing new to look forward to so far.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but that's exactly the part of the problem with some of the fandom. They take this too seriously.

Well, the way I see it is that it hasn't diminished what I loved about SW... and that's the OT (really hoping Disney can someday release it without GL's special edition edits), mostly because I didn't let it. I've done what other fans have suggested, and basically I'm an EU (now legends) guy, but even then, I only really only like the Thrawn trilogy and don't mind Jedi Academy.

However, even saying that, it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the new SW. Much like you I'm not looking forward to what's on deck (Solo and EPIX), but I still don't mind reading others thoughts and formulate theories on it. I'm in no way hyped, and these will probably be the first SW movies I won't go watch in theaters (I gave my son a choice of 6 movies to watch, and Solo didn't make it... they're also all relatively close to it... gunna be a pricy May, June and July). For the first time I'll probably dabble in pirated copies of SW (argh) and enjoy them at home. Despite that, SW still has sci-fi/fantasy components to its story telling and I love that stuff, so I'll take it in as much as I do the other material that's out there. I'll come on here and brain storm with people about what might be in so and so movie. Maybe I might even surprise myself and get excited about it enough to reconsider buying a ticket in 2019 (seriously doubt it, but who knows... this is all new to me).

Bottom line is that I've lowered the bar for SW. That will lower enthusiasm and fanfare, but maybe I can at least enjoy them as popcorn movies and no longer the sacred stories I held so dear from my childhood and early adulthood (I still have those, these aren't it, at least for me). Basically I view anything after the OT as being separate, just another sci-fi/fantasy. That's not to say I won't complain when movies come out, or that I won't partake in excessive eye rolling with the rest of us fans who are underwhelmed (I'd very much prefer us being regarded to as "underwhelmed" instead of "haters" lol), but I'll also endeavor to be a little more amiable to those fans who love these versions.

Basically I'm not on here to be a downer. I want to be able to come on here and make fun of a movie tear it apart with fans of like mind, as well as share ideas and dream of the possibilities along with the rest of the fans and hope I enjoy the next installment better. So when I'm on here and griping about a movie don't take offense (especially if I'm somewhere like "for fans who hated the movie"), it's my way of coping, getting that out of my system so I can go into other threads and join in on fan theory and sharing of ideas.
