What a horrifying result!!! Now I have to hear the Poms go on and on about it. We now NEED to win the Ashes

What a poor way to win it, on Boundaries? Of all the ways to decided it that has to be the worse.

Some of the best catches at the World Cup. They are of a really high standard which is nice to see. This is missing a couple of Kiwi ones from the final

I have no idea what a "super over" or a "boundary" is, but congrats to England!!!

An "Over" is six consecutive throws of the cricket ball by the bowler. A bowler is the player on the fielding team that gets to throw (bowl) the cricket ball to the opposing team's batter. Bowlers change for every Over, so every six bowls, the bpwler changes. Depending on which type of cricket is being played, there are different limits to how many Overs can be bowled per team in a Cricket match.

There are three main versions of Cricket, as Cricket was originally designed to be a slow paced Gentleman's game:

One Day International Cricket or "ODI" (50 overs = 300 bowls per team), the game lasts a whole day. The Cricket World Cup is ODI based.

Test Cricket (At least 90 overs (540 bowls) per day, for 5 days.) One of the most famous Test Matches is the England vs Australia "Ashes" series, which is held once every two years. This "Ashes" series lasts for 5 weeks (5 weeks of 5 day matches!) and the winner is the first to win 3 of the weekly tests - but all 5 weeks must be played!

"20 Twenty" Cricket (20 overs = 120 bowls per team), a game usually lasts 3 hours. Its the fast version of Cricket. 20 Twenty is a modern version of Cricket designed for a much faster pace and excitement.

A "Boundary" is when the batsman hits the cricket ball hard enough that it reaches and touches the "boundary" ope that surrounds the cricket field before a fielder can stop it. They are only allowed to use hands. A Boundary is worth 4 runs to the team batting, and is also called a "Four".

A "Six" is when a batsman hits the cricket ball clean out of the cricket field, over the boundary rope without it touching the ground. (A bit like a "home run" in baseball.) Six runs is the highest score possible per batsman, per bowl.

A Super Over is Cricket's version of a football penalty shoot out, and is designed to break a tied cricket match when both teams have ended their innings with the same number of runs. An extra Over (6 balls) of the cricket ball is given to each team to decide the tie. The team with the highest nymber of runs with the six bowls wins the match. If the score in the Super Sver is also tied, then the team who scored the highest number of "boundarys" (4 runs each) in the innings wins the match.

Not jammy at all. England scored 27 boundarys, 11 more than New Zealand's 16.

Not to mention the umpire getting carried away and awarding an extra run to England that they hadn't even earned.

Perhaps you should have scored more runs then.

I guess some England fans need more time before they akcnowledge their outrageous good fortune in this match. I'll come back in about fifty years. :p

Finally we have a fast bowler who can bowl long spells.
That was some proper old school fast bowling in one of his overs the slowest ball was about 88Mph with the fastest up around 96Mph
Also I really hope Smith makes a full recovery & can play in the rest of the series
