Yeah, fair criticism. Just sayin he may have made errors because he was under pressure (he seemed a little resigned and less sure of himself near the end), may have been out of his comfort zone with a squad (he was probably used to being a lone operative) and did seem to defer to Jyn's leadership post council.

My excuses ↑ for him were a little tongue-in-cheek though - more along the lines of Vader pulling a ham-string or having a migraine come the end of his RO walk-of-death to explain why he exerted himself a little less in ANH! ;)

I finally saw Rogue one for the first time on DVD today...yeah I know; I'M SLOW! But after the mental "breakdown" I had after The Force Awakens, I decided NOT to go that route again. After seeing R1 I can say it was "A FRIGGIN MASTERPIECE!!":D GOD, I LOVED THIS FILM!! EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! EVEN THE SQUID MONSTER!;)

Well.....did Jyn come up with the plan of obtaining Imperial uniforms via understanding their inspection process at the landing pad, using K2 to get a map of the station and create a distraction?

    Was it her plan? (Unknown)

Are intelligence officers also strategic specialists? (No.)

Did they go undercover and infiltrate the base like....an intelligence officer would? (Yes.)

The plan goes awry when Krennic & the Rebel fleet arrives.

I voted 1 only because voting 0 was not an option (presumably out of some misplaced sense of generosity towards the makers of this dreck masquerading as entertainment). Having missed the film at the cinema and expressly asking for it not to bought for me now that it's on Blu-ray, I was given the opportunity of watching it this afternoon after a meal at a friend's house and I accepted the offer.

I should have sensed that something was up when the title made itself known some ten minutes or more into the film. Rogue One announces itself so meekly and so apologetically, almost out of some degree of self-awareness of just how poor it is. And who knew Forrest Whittaker was struggling so much for work that he had to accept this role? To be fair, his performance was so bad the joke is really on the people who employed him.

I thought the droid (or was it Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory?) was okay insofar as at least it wasn't Anthony Daniels. That was until Threepio came mincing across the screen in a "cameo".

Dull, dull, dull. That's pretty much it. There's some space ship porn at the end but the audience has to wait two hours for that, which makes the sequence too little too late in my eyes.

"Save the dream, save the rebellion" - or is it the other way around? Save your time and watch something else. I wish I had.

Hm... So, let's see. From what we know so far, the stand alone films are:
    1. Rogue One
    2. Han Solo
    3. Bounty Hunters/Boba Fett
    4. Obi Wan (not confirmed of course)

Sounds to me like they are taking one character from OT (or one aspect of OT in the case of RO) and running with it.

They didn't confirm a boba fett/bounty hunter movie. The concept was ditched.

But there seem to be plenty of rumors that it will be back. Personally I'd like them to let Boba Fett go and just do something different, on say the Guardians of the Whills, but that's probably not going to happen. I have a feeling it will be back.

I really think they're going for a 'Old Republic' style movie. It gives them creative freedom and a franchise backup with new characters for when the Skywalker saga ends. ;)

I think that would be a good idea. I'd love to see something from a different time period. All new characters, etc. I never cared for the Boba Fett idea myself, and I'm still not sold on the Han Solo film either (although the cast looks solid)

And Rogue One was probably as effective as it was precisely because we didn't know whether any of the main characters would survive the movie. As for Han Solo, I'm not really curious about Han Solo, but more the other new characters introduced in the movie. If they'll do a Kessel Run sequence, I will 'walk out'(probably not, figuratively, in my mind) of the cinema because that would mean that the last piece of mystery surrounding Han will evaporate

I want it to end at the start of the race or the movie starts at the end of the race.

Possibly have it happen in the timeline of the film but never show it.

The Kessel Run is very much the midichlorians of Han Solo for me. Best left a mystery and for the creative minds of fans to fill in the gap.

The latest rumbling was a team bounty hunter movie from what I heard. It would include Fett but wouldn’t be centered on him.
That’s pretty much my opinion on just about all the potential spinoffs I’ve heard. Nobody seems to remember the saying “less is more”.

They are not running with it , they just going round and round around the ot , i'm willing to bet han solo will finish in the cantina on tatooine , with chewie meeting with ben kenobi who is looking for a lift to Alderaan.

I mean, they broke into a secure Imperial Facility and managed to steal the plans to the Death Star, which would ultimately be used to destroy one of the Empire's largest and most powerful technological marvels. Sure, there were pretty heavy casualties, but I don't know how Cassian could be expected to do much better than that.

I didn't expect so many Star Wars fans to be so pessimistic about this movie. I gave it a 9 out of 10.
There are very small details that could have been fixed easily, yet weren't due to obvious plot developments and simply screen opportunity. For example, in the beginning of the movie, don't you think it would have been smarter for Krennic to park next to the Erso household instead of landing a mile away :p. An obvious opportunity for better imagery shots. This small detail would have changed the storyline dramatically.
I felt as though Saw Gerrera's last lines nto Jyn could have been less cheesy and predictable before he died.
I also had a problem with the end where Krennic had his gun pointed at Jyn. I can't stand the "I'm going to keep talking to you even though I've already decided to shoot you, and I'm going to tell you you're going to die....but I'm obviously going to be stopped" scene cliche.

Other than those, I can excuse and ignore all the other small minuscule issues and enjoy this amazing movie.
I highly enjoyed the CGI for Tarkin and Leia even though most found them too unrealistic. "You may fire when ready." (death star)
Every action scene had me on my toes and entertained to the fullest, and I'm probably going to watch it a billion more times. (x-wing)

Why you so pessimistic about this movie? :p
Or Krennic bothering to ask “who are you?”. Who cares? Just shoot her already.

I thought the plot was a bit messy. They spent half of the movie trying to make us care about Jyn and only Jyn, but I just couldn't.

Instead, the movie should have started with Rogue One already established as a team and we begin with a mission showcasing their teamwork and camaraderie. Jyn would be the leader who the team has complete trust in, but with a lot more charisma and personality. Right of the bat, the audience would feel endeared to every character and their interesting interactions within the team.

If the movie started with this, then we would of had an hour or so of just enjoying this awesome team and growing attached as the main plot develops. Then on the final mission, we would feel the weight of each and every death. This would be amplified by seeing the teammates react to seeing their friends die. Not some big slowmo cry out over and over again, but even just facial reactions would work wonders.

Maybe it was just me, but I felt indifferent when most of the characters died because I didn't really have the opportunity to grow attached to them. The only one that affected me was Donnie Yen's character because I watch all his movies. Baze and Chirrut's camaraderie probably played a part, too.
