The only time I've welled up with Star Wars was the "Chewie we're home" from Han in TFA trailer.

Yeah a lot of people who grew up with the OT’s were hit hard by that scene. And im sure it only helped to have Harrison Ford back for that. I too loved that scene and thought it was amazing and nostalgic.

I was eight years old when ROTJ came out. I cried when Darth Vader died. Darth Vader was, and still is, one of my favorite characters. He turned good again and saved Luke. I wanted him to live! I was super sad. I only cried two more times at a movie. Spoilers for 40 year old movies, you've been warned.... When Spock died and when Optimus Prime died. Vader's the only one who stayed dead, well, sort of.

The thing about Vader that I loved was that it wrapped up SW in a nice little bundle. Everything that happened until then has really revolved around Vader/Anakin. In the end, Anakin redeemed himself as the chosen one. Anakin death hits so hard especially after watching the PT and CW.

Did I cry? No, but I did make me sad anyone who has remotely been a Star Wars fan is sad at the end of a movie.

No I didn't cry. Why is Luke bringing back a man who he doesn't know, a tyrant and who physically and psychologically abused his mother?

good point. maybe think of it as luke's kindness and how he tried to bring back a tyrant who physically and psychologically abused his mother. Or maybe that makes it worse.

I voted yes because distinctly remember crying at the ending when I saw it in the theater when I was 3.... that's all I remember about seeing it actually. Not because it was sad or powerful but because I wanted to stay in the theater and see more cool spaceships and I was being forced to leave and throwing a fit. I was also kind of sad when it was over when I went to see the Special Editions in the 90s since I enjoyed getting to go see the originals in the theater and it was the end of that.

I've cried at the cinema a lot, but the film which made me cry the most is The Green Mile.;)
