I saw a recent new fan made film called: Darth Maul, Apprentice(check title). I think it was made in Germany & released in early 2016.
Honestly, its one of the best fan film/Star Wars movies made, :) .
The acting, SFX, CGI, stunts, casting, etc are all great. If you get the chance check out the fan film.

They were a little quick with their saber action(s) but that has more to do with a swinging a super-light toy instead of a weightier carbon fiber tube than poor acting ability. Other than that little nitpick, it was well done.

I would attribute the speedier movement more likely to the stunt direction over the props themselves. The carbon fiber and polycarbonate blades are pretty much the same weight. The latter is actually a bit heavier and more cumbersome from experience...

Did they film it with props, or w/ toys?
