So @ITG, does that mean we will discover that Snoke was the ugly, locked up, beat up, bastard child of Plagueis and Palpatine? And despite being heavily involved with Snoke's backstory, Plagueis will NOT turn out to be Snoke?

Yes, we have a special strange relationship on Twitter where I ask him about Darth Plagueis and he lies through his teeth provides contradictory statements*.

*Disclaimer* Due to the chronic illness Plagueitis, my interpretation of his Tweets may be erroneous, moronic and/or delusional. I therefore cannot be held responsible for such defamatory statements and my reputation upon these boards should be judged upon my posts in other threads with statements about Plagueis being struck from the record. That is unless Snoke is Plagueis. Then I must be crowned champion of Star Wars and ruler of The Cantina.

Dave Filoni said back in 2014 that one reason they included the Sifo-Dyas arc in The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions was because, it was part of the story George wanted to lock down more before he left. Now we have Pablo saying a reason the Darth Plagueis novel was de-canonized is that it didn't line up with George's vision. So, this is one example of how they contradicted each other. It's also interesting as the arc from Clone Wars does bring more questions than answers to the subject and George does say in the commentary for Attack of the Clones that the Clone War is very, very important to the trilogy as a whole.

As well as a new Snoke theory in connection to Darth Plagueis:

According to Aftermath: Life Debt there's an object buried on Jakku that was significant 1,000 years ago and according to Palpatine will be again. What could this object be? Perhaps it's an object that can drain life of the living and/or of the dead. Perhaps this is one reason Snoke is deformed from using the object on Anakin's body to gain some of his strength again from cheating death... this could explain why they have similar facial structures and he wouldn't look like a Muun if he's Darth Plagueis.

    IMG_1779.JPG

Han says to Ben," Snoke is using you for your power. When he gets what he wants, he'll crush you."

And even as Snoke says to him in The Force Awakens novel, " It is where you are from. What you are made of. The dark side—and the light. The finest sculptor cannot fashion a masterpiece from poor materials. He must have something pure, something strong, something unbreakable, with which to work."

With this object, the balance of Light/Dark of Ben and perhaps even stronger with Rey if she's Luke's daughter, other artifacts, and his unnatural Force abilities he's mastered, he could be close to unlocking the key to immorality and living forever. This could explain why Luke went into hiding at the First Jedi Temple, he's seeking answers to these connections between all these things as all together they had significance over a 1,000 years ago when another came close to immorality but, didn't have all the resources like one born of Light/Dark. This also explains why he's fearful of Luke returning and why Luke went searching for Force relics with Lor San Tekka.

Note: Snoke has a similar body structure to a Muun apart from his head which has the uncanny resemblence to Darth Vader.

    HOLY SNOKE!

I should probably point out this is purely a fun "what if" Plagueis fanfic.

Ah, and here I was thinking it was a bad pun. Ahch-to, Act Two, Second Sequel film... TIL.

Also, I'm seconding the Plagueis and Palpatine spin off movie idea. That would be delightful.

Plagieus is to popular a character now to ignore. In some way or another they are going to write him into the new canon story line. Why say he was the only force user ever to cheat death and then have him die. That would just be bad story telling. Everything in Star Wars connects in one way or another. Whether he is Snoke or some dark entity controlling everything like a puppet master is up for debate.
I don't believe Pablo Hidalgo for a second, of course he is going to keep saying Plagieus is dead! Giving even one itsy bitsy statement that he might not be dead would ruin the whole surprise factor!
    Plageius the Wise lives!

I think he'll probably get a canon novel or so, but he's not Snoke. Pablo knows what he's doing.
I'm looking forward to Empire's End. We might get some hints towards Snoke's origins.

    Hang on in there @master_shaitan!

In all seriousness, I'm a little more optimistic than that...

Focusing solely on what the story/films are portraying to me as a viewer, I'm about 80% Snoke = Plagueis, but based on Pablo's tweets/external sources, I'm 5-10%. So overall, I don't know what to bloody think!

However, I do know I'm not ruling Plagueis out until canon sources reveal his species. I just can't put my finger on why Luceno didn't mention Muun in Tarkin but incorporated his droid 11-4d, or why the storygroup asked him to cut down on references/had issue with certain character's species, and then also Luceno's recent comments about how Plagueis is still an "ongoing discussion" and that maybe some things from legends regarding Plagueis won't be used in the future.

If I ever find the time and effort, I plan on putting together a comprehensive list focusing from a storytelling perspective to explain my reasoning in detail.

I'm about 30%-40% at this point. I'm a little higher because I'm finishing up Lucenos Darth Plageius novel so it's fresh on my mind.

    SPOILER!!
The way Snoke looks with part of his jaw missing is pretty close to the way Plageius is described being injured in a surprise attack in that novel.
