Well to be fair he kind of just did as this is set straight after RotS. But I get your point that he does look rather manic & a bit fried in the face.

I guess hastily is the right word, 'cause most of inquisitors are useless wherever they go, just a soldiers with lightsabers to sow terror. Are they seen elsewhere but in Rebels and Ahsoka?

A mercenary with an Inquisitorial blade appears in the upcoming Ghosts of Dathomir expansion for the fantasy tabletop game Force and Destiny, but that doesn't really count because the game isn't really canon, and the merc isn't an Inqusitor.

Those are the only three material they've appeared in though.

I guess even much less canon was their first introduction (?) in West End Games RPG back in the 80’s with the person of High Inquisitor Tremayne in the source book “Fragments from the outer Rim”. But that really was a long time ago…

I'm bringin' it back! Now that the first issue is out, we have more to discuss.

I thought the first issue was a solid issue and made me excited for more. It redeemed one of the few things that I wasn't a big fan of in ROTS. It never bugged me too much, but this was a better intro to the suited Vader than the one in the movie. I liked how it answered where Yoda's lightsaber went after his duel and went in to crystal bleeding. I didn't like some of the artwork and like all other issues, it's too short! But those were the only two things that I didn't like about the comic. I also liked how Vader went and killed those mechanic guys that stole his ride without a lightsaber. As much as I like Vader, I kinda got burnt out on his lighsaber-wielding, killing sprees after reading the whole first Darth Vader series (as much as I liked it), but this one felt fresh to me and he seemed to still be getting used to the suit and everything, as he didn't make it out unscathed, unlike say, Rogue One, for example.

How do you feel now that we're four issues in? I find each issue is too short to really move the story anywhere. They could easily combine two of them into one and I feel like we'd get something more substantial.

    Things I like so far:
    • the Barash Vow
    • Vader fighting with weapons besides his lightsaber
    • Vader learning how to function
    • Vader acting in the prequel era
    Things I'm less thrilled with:
    • the brevity of each issue
    • we don't get much of Vader's psychological state
    • he seems too skilled this early

Idk, I've only read the first two issues. (I'm taking an extended break from comics.) I really liked them, but these recent ones don't sound too great to me. The OG Darth Vader series had its hits and misses too, though, so I'd say it's too early to tell.
