    The optimist in me says maybe Rogue One wasn't the last time we'd see Vader onscreen after all! The pessimist in me says...why does Vader need to be in this movie?

    I don't think we need Vader in this film.
    In fact, I'd prefer his absence.


    But in another spinoff film? Heck yeah, why not? As long as the film itself isn't Vader's, it would be great to feature him again. Maybe even in a slightly more prominent role than Rogue One.

    I do think that a horror-esque film a la Vader Down mixed with Death Troopers would be pretty cool.

    I'm with you on that. For all their talk of Darth Vader being used "sparingly" in Rogue One, I think he was used a little too sparingly. He could have had one more scene at least.

    I don't want to see Darth Vader in the Han Solo movie. The universe would shrink even more. I hope the Empire won't play a big role in this movie.

    Agreed.

    It'd be cool to see some of the early Empire in the film (like in the Tarkin novel, where a lot of Republic stuff is still in use) but they should be just sort of in the background, if anything. The conflict should be all scum and merc.

    The only reason would be if it was the last scene, we need a Skywalker in the last scene! It's a rule.

    I wondered if they would to that. Some holo in a cantina about Vader doing stuff in the news, or he had been given some info on illegal activity. It would be the first stand alone without a Skywalker in the last scene. Maybe they want to do that.

    If Vader is going to be in a movie it should be in the Obi Wan movie. But never for more than a minute or two.

    I know that people associate him with playing Vader, but he isn't the only "strong and imposing character" in the SW universe. Think of him as a bigger Warwick Davis - just because he appears in a SW film, it doesn't mean that he'll play Wicket the Ewok. Also, since there were no rumours of Vader appearing inside the film, then so far there's no reason to think that we'll see him in this film.

    I wonder which suit they gonna use if he is in the movie. ( I hope he isnt in the movie btw )

    Pablo said on twitter that vader had different suits for certain situations.
    So maybe we see the suit from Episode 3 (5+6) again.

    He's not tall enough to play with Chewie but maybe they briefly cross hairs with vader or vader puts a bounty on them.
