SPECULATION Darth Vader in Rogue One?

Didn't Vader come into focus in ANH when he was ridiculed by technocrat Motti: "Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes or given you clairvoyance enough to find the rebels' fort..." and then Vader counters with a a force choke and the epic understatement "I find your lack of faith disturbing."

I love Vader in this scene! It almost looks like a midlife crisis, when the hip new techno people ask him to move over, like some washed-up sentimental fool. There's so much here that could be explored in Rogue One. I guess for most of the time between the Clone Wars and Luke's awakening in ANH, Vader was the only one holding a torch for the Force.

So he's already getting soft in Star Wars...

 

I said this before but I hope the cgi does justice to Vader if he dies to all of this stuff but it's interesting how there is A "stunt" armor for Vader .

 

Maybe before TNH yes before the rebels give him alot of trouble.

I'm sure the CGI will help.

 

My worry is that it will look too much like Star Wars: Battlefront .

 

If it's like these apart from Battlefront it can't hurt as long as his performance is undeterred.

 

They're doing movie-accurate ANH molds for the helmet and armor...I hope they use photorealistic VFX for his armor .

I really wasn't excited for this movie until I started hearing about these rumors...now I can't wait until December!

 

That's... pretty intense. I think that it would make for a really cool scene, I just wonder how they'd be able to pull it off in PG-13 (I mean, we've had decapitation, but the idea of multiple decapitated bodies is absolutely terrifying.)

 

Gotta use him. He's there and he's the most compelling Villain they have.

 

TCW TV show had a quadruple decapitation onscreen at one point.

 

i agree completely.

unless a film is made for the period immediately after ROTS.. this might be the only opportunity (excluding Rebels) to show his power and merciless brutality. i hope this turns out to be true.

 

I would certainly love for them to push the limit. Give us a Vader we're fine with hating again, at least for the era he's featured.

 

Collider Jedi Council has brought up several times the scene in Twilight Company where Vader shows up and just wrecks everyone.
I think if Vader's in R1 it'll be like that. Not integral to the plot, just kind shows up and is a badass.

 

As long as he's not used as a deus ex machina, it should be fine. They've used him fairly well in Rebels.

 

Well I'm all fairness they have t add some sort of a familiarity to R1 to make it more approachable to regular people .
