you may be right and for that im sorry, but to my defense it was pretty much the assumption in the comments that something bad had to happen to Vader to make him fight as he did in ANH and I just disegree ( sorry for the spelling, english isn't my native languese )

No problem. I just couldn't make sense of what your post had to do with what you quoted me on. I get your point now.

Hmm, making a Star Wars movie Rated R kind of misses the whole point of Star Wars. At the end of the day, the appeal of Star Wars is that it is a franchise that appeals to both kids and adults equally. When people get shot we see burn marks at best because lasers cauterize the wounds, same with Lightsaber burns. Everything is presented in fantastic context that makes violence more palatable to the audience. Does that mean that you can't have dark and gritty stories? Of course not, one can do all kinds of dark and gritty stories within the Star Wars context, even The Clone Wars had its share of dark and gritty story lines, not to mention decapitations and villages being massacred and so on. Remember also that in RotS that we got multiple decapitations and the movie was still PG-13.

Therefore, there is no reason that Rogue One needs to be R Rated to do what they need to for this film. As a comic book reader I can tell you that Deadpool getting an R rating simply made sense for the character if they wanted to cut loose and do him justice, Star Wars is not a similar case. That being said, who's to say that there wont be an extended cut of the film that gets an R Rating. I just don't see that happening for the theatrical release, as it would be a bit of a slap in the face to all of the families that are looking forward to the next Star Wars film.

I agree. But stranger things have happened. Look at the Cartoon Network.

I just hope they don't show Vader in any of the trailers. I think sound is fine. Like him saying a phrase or to hear his heavy breathing as the imperial march theme plays in the background. I feel like if they show him in a trailer it will be a huge missed opportunity. With that said I think they will show Vader in the final trailer. Because more people will watch if they are certain he is in the movie.(dad)

    Maybe
show Vader but he's moving so fast that he's pretty much a flash and a blur and we hear his breathing and see his saber in action while hearing a mashup of "Across the Stars" and "The Imperial March" .

Moving so fast like a flash?...I don´t know...But the breathing with only seeing his lightsaber in action it's a great idea! It could be a blurred/dark scene with some rebels cornered, then a close up to one rebel whispering "It's all around us!" (like the Grievous scene at the CN Clone Wars series, but without Sha´a Gi :p)

Something like when Vader fought the rebels in the "Vader Down" series.

No, I don't want "fast Vader." He's scarier, imo, partly BECAUSE he's methodical and deliberate. He doesn't need to be fast, he's relentless, unstoppable, unrelenting, and sheer raw power and hate.

As for him in the teaser, I g back an forth on it. I do like the idea of us never getting a good look at him. Like it's just his breathing and someone mentioning "Lord Vader," or you just see his feet as he's exiting his shuttle, or something like that. BUT, I also think that it could be cool if, maybe for the final trailer, you show him confronting one of the main rebel characters (perhaps Felicity Jones or Donnie Yen). He starts to Force Choke them, and then says his "easy, all too easy," and then cut to title card. Heck you don't even have to fully show him there. It could be seeing him from the back, or his gloved hand reaching out, etc.

I like that, or you could have a scene where one of the characters starts clutching at their throat, pan to Vader's clenched fist!

Vader's presence is daunting enough, even when it's just the sound of him breathing.

The fact we know he's virtually unstoppable if in the presence of non-Force-sensitives goes a long way to the apprehension the sheer thought of his character provides.

I'm sure we'll get to see it all on display, though, the sound and the fury....

It reminds me of how Vader could kill someone with his mind while being off-planet/on a completely different planet .

I think having Vader in a teaser trailer would be brilliant but they have to do it well. Something brief, just a short glimpse at the very end. Maybe the screen is dark, we hear his respirator, and then he ignites his saber, illuminating him only partially as he slashes at the camera. Cut to the logo. Bam.

"Dark side is stronger" wasn't that the mind frame of most imperial loyalist during the the time frame before ROTJ?

I think having Vader's full reveal wouldn't be a wise decision because it should be very similar to Luke Skywalker's reveal for it to be THAT MUCH MORE menacing and scary even for us adults which I think that it needs to be...in my opinion .

Correct me if I am wrong but the imperial loyalist people didn't start thinking that until they were reorganized into The a first Order .

It seems like most of the Imperials didn't really believe in/know about the Force at all. Let alone the distinction between the Dark Side and the Light Side. Some of the hire ups like Tarkin did certainly, but a lot of the ordinary soldiers/officers, not so much.

They were more loyal to the Empire itself, or were ambitious and felt that they could use the Empire to climb the ladder or success and seniority.

That's the impression I get, too. The new canon points to Palpatine suppressing use of the Force outside of his regime. He surrounded himself with Force-sensitives who were loyal to the Empire and the Dark Side, such as the Inquisitorium. Everyone else he destroyed while using Imperial propaganda to keep the general citizens in the dark about what the Force is and most likely turning people against Force-sensitives. "Burn the witch!"

Palpatine gave the speech at the formation of the Empire referencing the Jedi attack on his life and their attempt to take over the government.

I think for most of the galaxy, the Empire was a simple continuation of the republic and that it took many years for the resentment to begin to boil over. That certainly seems to be the message of Rebels.
