I would love to see a situation were Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) is forced to fight Darth Vader :) Even though Chirrut Imwe is not an Jedi it would be great to see if you ask me :) ..

I agree. My worst fear is that Vader's only in 2 scenes. I think it's the perfect opportunity to see him in full potential, doing cool stuff.

I think he's bantha fodder without a lightsaber in a duel against vader when all that he will do is simply force choke Chirrut from his star destroyer .

Well remember...the point of this movie is supposedly NO jedi and vader technically counts..

i believe that Darth Vader will have some action scenes with a lightsaber killing some rebels. Darth Vader in a Star Wars movie without any action scenes will be a disappointment to many fans, and im sure Disney is aware of that. i have never seen Darth Vader do anything remotely extreme or scary after he got the suit, choking a couple of people and fighting Obi Wan Luke and Ashoka have never done it for me. i always hoped that we would have another opportunity to see Darth Vader in action on the big screen, and if anything this is it!! We need that extra sugar on top, and if they mess it up and only give him a short dialogue cameo then they might just as well have left him out of the movie.

If it was a character like Tarkin i would understand if he had no action scenes, I mean the guy is not an action character. i have to say, no matter what people are saying about this movie is not about Darth Vader, that much is true, but that is no reason for not giving Darth Vader any action scenes, he is an action character and he should have action scenes.

If the point of the movie was no Jedi, or Sith for that matter, then they would probably have kept Vader completely out of Rogue One. I think there is something cool in store for us with Vader in Rogue One.

And the buildup to inevitable disappointment begins. :)

You have the power to avoid it though!

At any rate, he's in the film more than Luke was in Ep. VII... :p

That would be a classic encounter, maybe it's will be Chirrut's ''final scene''.

I hope Vader isn't in it more than he has to be. But I hope he makes a great presence.

I honestly don't think he would stand that mush of a chance against Vader!

But if they were to fight, I hope he doesn't mess around with him, like Vader does with Kanan/Ezra, because
    Vader couldn't of beaten them...

I believe Chirrut and a majority of the rebel squad is going to be killed off. As for Jyn, I think she may actually make it out alive and flee off somewhere.

It seems to be the prevalent opinion - which I agree with - that most of the characters introduced in Rogue One are probably going to die in the end, to account for their absence in any later movies. Here's my question: would this result in a bleak ending for the film, and would that be something Disney might have tried to soften (because...it's Disney)?

There's a lot of death in Disney films; it's not something they shy away from. But you still have a good point. All of our heroes dying makes for a pretty bleak film no matter what. I suspect we'll see the Tantive IV in the last moments, as Captain Antilles and Princess Leia arrive to take the plans. That will serve as our happy ending.

Back on topic, I highly doubt we'll see Chirrut and Vader fight. If they do, it'll have a quick outcome.

I think that the movie's story would be pointless if they all die...not in the sense that the death star plans are important but in the sense of us falling in love with the characters

Vader still fights with honour. Anyone brave enough to face him would most likely be treated better depending on how frustrated or time constrained he is.

Hmm. In this situation I'm thinking,
Vader: "get the hell outta my way blind dude with a stick, I'm after my stolen death star plans". Force choke. Minor obstacle out of the way. On to more important issues.
He would perhaps deserve an interrogation at best. But for entertainment purposes, who knows what we may in fact see at this point.
