    Hello friends.
If you see this it's most likely that you go on this forum site at least 1-5 times a day. I'm finding myself obsessing about every released second of this movie. What the plot, characters, and setting may be never escapes from my mind throughout the day and I feel like it is inhibiting my productiveness and possible over-hyped attitude towards something I haven't even seen yet. We can get swept away in the fantasy of something so dear to our hearts that makes us happy and escape from the real world.
So, I have decided to go cold turkey from this site and any other social media related to Star Wars on December 1st, in case anything gets leaked, spoiled, or further released so I have the right mind-set for the release of this movie.
Just wondering if I'm alone in this at all and that if any one is thinking about doing the same thing?

I'm only abandoning this site when TFA premieres on the 14th. In the meantime, I refuse to read any spoilers.

No, I'm more obsessed than you and I want all the plot details NOW! It's not fair!
But good luck, I hope you can resist the temptation until the movie is released.

    I can totally sympathize.
Thank you, me too. But I might end up binging until December 1st....

Well, my Turkey may start off Cold, but that's only because it'll be in the fridge after Thanksgiving.
Later, I will put it on a plate, with stuffing and veggies, and slide that plate into the Microwave for a minute or so.

Besides, to me, hype is a way overused word. (--*Oh darn, I need a fork! Be right back...*)

(*Okay back now... where was I...? Oh right..."about hype")
By definition, it means excessive (even deceptive) advertising. If anything, Disney has been understated and straight forward with The Force Awakens' P&A (Publicity & Advertising). They've been restrained. Sure it'll expand, there'll be way more as we get closer, but again: that's just publicity. It's normal, and I don't mind at all. Just a business announcing its product for sale.

To me it's not 'hype' at all, it's advertising, that I can watch or not watch. Disney can advertise to their heart's content. I've already decided to go see it, they won't be changing my mind.

So I'm going Warm Turkey until the 18th.

I get delicious leftovers, I get to watch some more TV Spots, and I get to enjoy the company of all you fine people before the show! :D

    It's win-win.

This was my general attitude, but considering that people around here avoid spoiler tags like plague, I am considering quitting now or, basically, just reading the main page and thread titles.

For me trying to go cold turkey til TFA is comparable to Luke trying to lift the X-Wing out of the swamps of Dagobah.

    "You want the impossible!"

If the script or novelization magically landed in my lap, I would read them right now. I'm all about the spoilers. Never stopped me from enjoying Star Wars before. In fact, it helped me digest the prequels and enjoy them more when I saw them at their midnight releases.

well the script is just that, the film reels it self are much more important.

When your reading one tends to make there own thought about scenes and what they look like.

Exactly. And my imagination is always less than what the films provide.
