Did Adam Driver Deliver

All i can say is he is perhaps the BEST character in the entire movie, he was so convincing you didn't know who he was or what the conflict per se was or his being nice to Rey per se to get what he needed. Even his out of control rage was just awesome, take it out on that console and then force grabbing that guy.

 

I should add that when Anakin was throwing his hissy fits or being whiny, I found him somewhat irritating. Whereas Kylo was genuinely creepy because he gave the impression of being two seconds from the sanitarium. Lol

 

I was speechless.He played the role so well.The character was written great.He showed uncertainty,confusion in what he was doing.His anger showed pretty well too.Great performance.

 

I doubt it. Remember, there was also bad dialogue you had to deal with.

A million times yes. He steals every scene he's in and there is an audible "hush" whenever he appears on screen. The tantrums were both scary and funny, the emotional/shouting dialogue (traitor etc.) was convincing and his interrogation scenes were full of menace. The character was given a real sense of conflict and depth - even when wearing the mask which is very difficult to convey emotion through.

Even though his complexion is darker than Han/Leia, I think his nose and jaw looks very Harrison Ford and facially he's a good representation of what a child of those two would look like.

 

My guess is that he dyes his hair black lol. But yes, he looks like them. And what a hell of performance. I am still hating him (Kylo Ren) so much!!!

 

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. Let me first say, absolutely loved the movie, seen it three times and will see it at least three more in the next couple weeks.

Maybe it's been mentioned regarding Kylo, but it struck me that in the two scenes where Kylo removed his mask (once in front of Rey in the torture chamber and once on the bridge in front of his father), both times his helmet was put down, they went out of their way to audibly give the helmet some serious weight-- once when it was put in what looked like a bed of ashes, and once when it dropped on the bridge. I believe this was no accident, and is meant to be both literal and metaphorical.

Thoughts?

Heh. "Driver" and "Deliver" pun or coincidence?!

 

I"ve seen it now 5 times and I can tell you I've walked away each time blown away by his, Daisy, and Johns performance. But hands down, Adam Driver NAILED it! Ugh, a year an half until episode 8.

 

All I know is that he had me captured from the first scene. I was honestly worried that whomever this new villain was, I'd be disappointed. Yet it was mesmorizing and odd in a way that had me enthralled by the end. Although I have to agree with many here....how the hell did little girl lost manage to beat him in the end? But not fully. And I'm happy for that.

Adam Driver nailed it. Absolutely nailed it. He was only in 20-30 mins of TFA at most & I was left wanting more!! I can't wait to see what he does in Episode 8!
