Did Boba Fett deserve a better fate?

Oh you mean the re-release?
Because the voice actor changed.

Boba wasn't originally anything special. It was literally just a cool design by Joe Johnston

 

So many Star Wars characters are iconic but not all can have a perfect dramatic ending if the main stories are to remain on track. Boba, for all his coolness, is still a supporting character, but even so was given a pretty unique demise. Look at Greedo; he simply got shot. It's a cool death and a cool scene but still it's just a blaster bolt to the chest. Boba has a death that not many characters can compete with in terms of originality. There are plenty who don't want to acknowledge the death of a favorite character, and I appreciate this. But look at the EU and make up your own mind as to whether he's really even dead or somehow pulled a Fett and escaped to fight another day.

 

I thought his death was great. It showed that not everyone gets a big finale or cheesy fanfare when they die. Sometimes interesting characters die in stupid ways.

 

I was actually referring to the original voice actor, so sorry for not specifying the voice actor. Interestingly enough, I recently watched a video of Johnston drawing Boba Fett.

 

Lets see where it goes with the Season 2 of the Mandalorian, but thats no discussion fo here.

 

Well it's too be determined as Fett is rumored to be in the second season of the Mandolorian.

 

Yep and it now appears Boba will be getting his own series......not sure how I feel about that.....

I thought Phasma would appear in TROS, but I was wrong. She will probably come back later, I agree.

Luke will come back as a forceghost to Rey in the future films of the franchise.

At the time it seemed a pretty memorable ending for a character who didn't get much screen time. The more he gets retconned and expanded it probably seems more and more like an undeserving end. I never really had a problem with the way it happened at the time, I thought the fake out of having the big bad feared bounty hunter getting taken out in an anti-climax was kind of funny. But deservedly or not he's become a pillar of the franchise and they don't EVER actually leave him dead in the Sarlacc anyway so I don't guess it really matters anyway. Whether it's the old Marvel comics, Legends EU or his new spin off show he always finds a way out of it.
