Did you think that Rey and Finn will be a couple in the future?

It's certainly possible, but I think it's going to take a bit to develop if that's the direction they are going to go. Initially, Jedi were not supposed to have love interests. Not to say that can't change, as a lot of what we originally believed has evolved over time. I think that the next movie is going to have to focus more on character development and setting the stage for the future than on a love story. There are a lot of questions that everyone wants an answer to, and this may be one of them, but I don't think Rey's love life is at the top of the list. Unless they plan on a 3+ hour film, I don't see how there is time for it.

 

I agree with Darth, it's certainly possible and I personally would enjoy it a lot. But IMO there are other things in the priority list.

Not that I don't wish both characters to find someone to fall in love with one day, just why does it have to be each other?
They are friends. Possibly best friends (Sorry Poe. BB-8 can be your bestie. At Chewie... you are an Uncle to Rey!) so why not just keep them as that?
I have best friends who are girls that I have known my entire life. We have had many adventures together (granted, none of them blowing up a Star Killer Base).
I hope their Friendship grows stronger as the movies go on and that they do love each other, deeply.
Just not in the "Finn and Rey - Sitting in a tree - KISSING" kind of way.

My answer is yes. EVERY single starwars trilogy (even the various books) have a love story intertwined. I doubt they will force rey to choose save the galaxy or be happy. That is not the way Disney works. It won't be as sloppy as AtoC but there will be romance.

Most of the Answers people want about back story will come from the books and comics. The movies will be a blur of on screen events backed up by the canon machine that is currently churning away.

I don't think they will end up together. Greatest example, I had an amazing friend who's a girl who I thought was my best friend and she's made excuses to openly hate me now but we were just like thee two and everyone wanted us to be together like afinn and Rey .

 

Finn seemed interested in her("you have a boyfriend, cute boyfriend?"), but Rey seems to regard Finn as more of a friend, I think. Besides, I think if they wanted to indicate a romance between the two they would have had them kiss at Starkiller Base rather than hug.

 

Lol thank you but the point I was trying to make was that, no matter how close you are, it doesn't mean anything special will ever happen for whatever reasons .

 

I'll be very surprised if they don't! He's the first person who ever came back for her, and she's the first person he's ever had to come back to. They have such a strong, profound connection, and even if it's not explicitly romantic at the moment, that doesn't mean it never will be (I'm honestly surprised at how many people seem to think this). I doubt it'll be on the forefront of the story, but it will be important, because they are important, in more ways than one.

 

What if Rey ends up with Jar Jar's great-grandson ?

 

I predict they will have their "spur of the moment" kiss in VIII. Both of them are fighting with the resistance and one of them decides to do something risky, and they quickly kiss each other as if it's the last time they'll see each other. Reminds me of the kiss in HP and the Deathly Hallows.

 

I kind of hope so:

-Daisy and John have great natural chemistry offscreen.
-Rey and Finn have great chemistry onscreen.
-I always disliked the whole "no attachments" thing, nor do I believe that Luke an/or Rey would agree with/follow it.
-There's a solid foundation already laid out, that can easily be exploded upon in the future.
-It'd be nice to have a semi-stable romance in SW between two character who genuinely like/respect each other. Not every relationship needs to be soap opera DRAAAMMAAA! And you can still have conflict/tension at times, without resorting to cheap crap like that.
-Etc.

As to whether it WILL happen or not. I'm honestly not sure at this point, we'll see.

No not really. They'd known each other for like a day by that point. Them not instantly jumping into bed together or kissing makes total sense. Need I bring up the Han/Leia thing again? They couldn't stand each other in ANH, spent pretty much the whole time bickering/arguing/insulting one another. Yeah well, THAT never changed now did it.
