Did you think that The Force is "sick" and "weak"???

The force has the flu.... I wish it a speedy recovery..

 

The Force itself is said to be "an energy field created by all living things."

Yoda told Luke, "Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us."

I think the Sith side (Dark Side) of the Force is where anything tantamount to the unnatural and the unhealthy can be found.

Palpatine said to Anakin, "The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural."

Mace Windu called Palpatined, during their combat in the office, "You Sith disease."

In the Darth Plagueis novel (now simply a "legend"), DP said to Darth Sidious (Palpatine), "The power of the dark side is an illness no true Sith would wish to be cured of."

While some of this may be looked upon as figurative language, I believe it is possible to regard usage of the Force in terms of "healthy" or "unhealthy" ways.

Misuse of the Force can put one (and all those affected) on a direct path to suffering.

Not to mention, it does seem to do some strange wonders to Sith skin

Yoda cautioned young Anakin about the dangers of acting first out of fear, and how that unhealthy state of mind can lead eventually to ruin: "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

If we take a look at the Sith code (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Code_of_the_Sith), we can pick out some arguably very unhealthy assertions:

This "freedom by 'breaking chains' through victory gained through power and strength and passion" liberates one from what exactly? The "lie" of peace?

It's a code of living that cannot produce stability or promote coexistence.

It's the essence of tyranny, the bloodthirstiness of conquest at all costs, an exercise of power through what actually is prescribed by this very code to be a loss of self-control: allowing passion, not compassion, hate, not serenity, to govern one's actions.

If there is no peace attainable within the self, as this code states, there can be no lasting moment of serenity, no moment untarnished by conflict.

The way of the Sith is essentially the Way of Death.

Perhaps, as the Sith are said to be gone, whatever Snoke considers himself or believes or preaches has some new twist on this thoroughly derelict and self-defeating lifestyle.

Perhaps he might have viewed the code itself (if in the past he was an active Sith) as simply another stepping stone on the way to his greater agenda (total control? immortality?).

In any event, the invasive and weedlike encroachments of the Sith have threatened the otherwise natural order of the Force, latching on to it and causing it to be less than balanced and "healthy," while spreading unhappiness and destruction wherever the Dark Side spreads.

The Jedi have, for the most part, tried to tend to their gardens, but they somehow, as of the Prequels, became unable (to extend this metaphor of weeds/gardens) to distinguish properly between weeds and roses, such that Palpatine emerged, thorns and all, vinelike throughout the Senate and galaxy, right in front of them without so much as incurring their curiosity until it was too late: their paradisaical garden of the Force now had a very capable serpent tempting someone hungry for knowledge to a dark tree of forbidden knowledge.

Only in this case, it was an Adam and not an Eve -- Anakin (possibly the first created man via the Force,) and not Padme, who did the honors, and the exit from that Eden was very quick, and the gateway would be guarded with a flaming sword so as to allow no return.

Outside of that garden, life would be difficult, the soil full of rocks and unyielding and accepting only in parts to life and nourishment.

The Dark Siders would have that happen: for the Force to be theirs, in their control, completely if possible.

And the only "seeds" they know how to "sow" are those of doubt, anger, and destruction.

This is why, I think, even just one Dark Side user could cause such a disturbance in the Force.

Anything that gets between life and its ability to create the Force inserts an unnatural stage in the process, and the Force cannot exist free of such disturbances until someone like the Jedi can help remove the disturbances and allow the Force to flourish again uninhibited.

I think the force can be infected with a sickness as in "good side" and "bad side" infections as the force itself is "neutral" with various beings choosing to interpret it in their own way which is FS's are so wide and all .
