    Masters and Padawans,my Lords and Apprentices.
    As an decades long forumite,debater and fan of SW thus naturally of this respected forum to, I have major objection.

    Disagreement forum rating is simply-wrong.

    Disagreement is natural part of any debate,without disagreement
    there is problem to have any debate,and certainly a productive one.
    So disagreement is not a negative thing,at worse it should be rated as neutral.(EDIT,by this I mean not rated at all).
    Disagree rating such as it is ,a de facto(EDITED) negative rating,has detrimental results on quality of debates ,and is unnatural.
    (though in this part correctly represented by a Sith Lord Darth Tyrranus as Dark side is a pathway to many things some consider unnatural).:p
    Joke aside.

    By plain logic it is wrong as it makes disagreement as something bad,and different opinion as undesirable act ,and even as tool of treat.

    I would like to encourage official staff of this Cantina forum to see is it possible to modiffy this Rating position to reflect true,natural, nature of dissagreement with other people's opinion.

    Green ratings are Posative
    Yellow is neutral
    Red is Negative.

    To argument this from Direct perspective my friend and I agreed he gives to this constructive original post,a one disagree rating.Now,let us assume he disagrees,which is natural part of any debate,the disagreement rating he gave had detrimental and unnatural results.
    Firstly it made original post treated as something negative.Second,I received negative rating for having different opinion(which didn't hurt anyone's personal or emotionally,nor it violated rules of politenes in debate,nor ot was trolling,which will desrve apropriate rating),And third,if we would not be friends,since it hurts (gives minus points)this natural thing,disagreement in debate ,will male unnecessary Flaming effect,deviding us aparat as humans who should do conversation.
    So disagreement should not be rated as negative,I think.

    Yes he disagrees that the Disagree rating is negative which it isn't as I explained. Also the Clouded rating is also neutral but I can give you a negative if it makes you feel better.

    Have removed this rating as on reflection it probably wasn't appropriate.

    awww, guys, don't gang up on @McDiarmid. i think the point he's trying to make is why do we even have a "disagree" Dooku rating since most of what drives the conversation is that we disagree on points and therefore debate, etc.
    even as a neutral rating it's kind of pointless and can just result in hard feelings.

    can't we get rid of it in favor of that JarJar rating everyone's been asking for?
    a "goofy" or "absurd" rating would be more specific.

    Jokes aside...i dunno...i dont mind all the ratings...good and bad and the ugly....its fun...and people should not take it to heart? I mean is there some negative rammifications of a neutral or negative rating? Like less credits...maybe counter that with giving extra credits cuz evil dudes always seem to be filthy rich? :) or...a very very very cool loking trophy!
    There...a compromise!

    The jar Jar Rating was "dumb", not really helping.
    The "disagree" was introduced to make "dislikes" as a counterpart of "Likes" obsolete. The part of hard feelings, yes it happens even in real life. But often it is not meant as such and you can't influence how people take things and I'm pretty sure the mods don't want to micromanage. It usually helps if all don't take this so serious, no matter what discussion, or virtual irrelevant internet point or whatever, it is less important what people think of us.
