I didn't have to watch every second of it because 30 seconds in I could just see that it is more of the same unhinged ranting's from the same people who pollute YT and sadly take over YT' algorithms to the point that it's no use even looking for content on the ST.


And yes I am biased against TFM (the Fandumb Menace) because I can't stand their negativity, juvenile and irrational behaviour. An intelligent and rational person doesn't like something, then they drop it and stop investing time and money in it. They don't rant about it adnauseum much less upload videos on YT. That in and of itself tells me that they aren't worth my time or energy and shouldn't be taken seriously.

The white slavers comment was clearly a shot at the corporatization of the film industry. Where people are more concerned about their carers and stock options than artistic product. He also said that he knew that LF was going to take the franchise in a different direction or do stuff that he did not agree with even before the cameras started rolling on TFA. I think he would have had problems with the ST regardless how it was filmed.

There's a disturbing level of fan ownership that pervades SW that I don't get. I understand getting attached to a property for whatever reasons. But most people choose healthy channels to express this love ie. buying merch, getting a tattoo, writing stories. But going so far to attack people just puzzles me.

I am yet to see a comment on Kathleen Kennedy that is based in any sort of fact.

But my general takeaway is this: Star Wars caters to a certain type of (mostly) male audience viewer. They don't want it to be like other sci- fi Dune, Star Trek with any depth or nuanced story telling. It should just be space battles and gun fights. Hence the constant praise for Mando and RO or the Clone Wars. Star Wars should be a fan insert. If the ST had been about Poe or Finn kicking everyone's back side then would have loved it.


And that's not what Kathleen Kennedy wants to do. She wanted to make the films more relevant to the times we live in. With much more deep and complex characters.

 

While we can never know her motivation unless she tells us. I think the motivation for most people in business is to make the most amount of money. In film and entertainment you do that by making good stories. But that’s a by product of trying to make money. Not the main goal. Plus she was a big shot producer before. A producers job is literally to get investment for the project and hope it makes its money back.

 

Well then you have already lost the argument also Disney is apart of the corporatization of the film industry LMFAO.

I don't think Bob Igor writing in his own book that George felt betrayed is a opinion that's pretty much fact TFM are just reporting on it.

 

If you were writing your arguments down instead of posting uncommented videos, maybe someone would bother reading and answering them.

If you want to be technical Star Wars is only 1 through 6 as George didn't care or acknowledge that the EU was apart of his story. George had free will to ignore them (which he did). Pre-Disney buyout, G canon (movies and shows he created) is the only canon that mattered which none of the EU stuff fell into.

 

To say he never cared about the EU at all that's a lie and the quote people often use is taken out of context. Leland Chee even said that the quote people provide makes it look like the EU is completely separate when it actually wasn't. George yes did not consider the EU apart of G canon but he still contributed a lot to it such as shadows of the empire and the clone wars multi-media project and cared about making his universe consistent. After episode 3 came out George was pretty much done with SW and stopped caring and when TCW came along it ruined the continuity and lore of SW.

 

Star Wars is whatever people like. Gatekeeping is silly. No one should tell others how to fan. I've been to Star Wars Celebration. That doesn't mean I'm a better fan than someone who has only seen one Star Wars film and enjoyed it.

Probably time to close this thread. This discussion isn't going anywhere but negative town.

Sadly any thread that brings up or is about KK is going to degrade into a pit of nothing. That’s not even the fault of the forum. I have seen it everywhere. When she comes up cooler heads cannot prevail it seems.
