Sounds like it! I wonder if it's for the film or was recorded for the game? I know Daisy and John voiced their characters for the game, so there are probably lines in it we won't see in the film.

 

Why didn't they just use the footage of Finn fighting?

MSW outline sounds a bit truer with each day we get closer to the movie....

 

So, Rey crying over Finn in the trailer.... Is that before or after she duels Kylo? Would Chewie really carry away Finn and leave Rey to fend for herself? Maybe if Han was with her, I guess.

 

I'd say they're 8/10 so far. They're wrong about BB-8 going to the Resistance base after Takodana, and that 3D imaging of Luke throws a big wrench into their belief of his limited role.

 

The closest thing we've got. Let's just say those rumors of Luke being in the movie for two seconds as a voiceless cameo, never doing anything (ligjtsaber or otherwise), and never interacting with Han and Leia are looking very true at this point....

 

Not that I don't appreciate the detective work to confirm this, great job, but why is anyone surprised by this? Did anyone really had any doubt that Rey was going to fight Kylo?

 

I dont see how this helps prove or disprove anything regarding Luke. If you didnt honestly think Rey didnt fight Kylo with a lightsaber, send over some of what you are smoking.

 

Never. How anyone could watch the trailers and see IMAX poster of Rey and BB-8 on Jakuu, which mirrors Luke and R2 on Tatooine, and not think that Rey is clearly this trilogy's Luke and heir to the lightsaber is beyond my programming.

Not really, just because Rey is fighting Kylo doesn't mean she dispatches him easily and Luke doesn't show up. Besides I'm still 100% confident Rey is looking up at Luke in the "Chewie is dead" shot.

I can't imagine this is true. Why have Hamill's name as top billing if he's not in the movie? Why would JJ and Ford say there's a reason Luke's not on the poster and it's "really, really good; trust me"? Marketing this movie with a "where's Luke?" theme, get everyone anticipating seeing Luke, put Hamill at top billing, and then not be in the movie? This is the equivalent of JJ saying, "Hey you know what would be great? Make everyone think Luke's in the movie, get everyone worked up over it- then not have him in the movie! haha wouldn't that be great? If we pissed everyone off? Wouldn't that be good for the franchise?" Trust me, Luke will be in the movie. And that's not Finn Rey is crying over. Unless Finn is dead. Which could be but I'd be shocked to learn that the plan was to introduce a new generation character- then kill him off.

If Luke shows up at the end of the duel... it will be kind of weird.
Not only would it diminish Rey as a hero (she refuses the lightsaber for most of the movie, then when she finally accepts her desting, she fails anyway?), but it would make for a kind of, anti-climactic ending... because instead of Rey completing the quest and finding Luke, Luke comes and finds her, and then they go off to some strange planet together?

I'd much rather have him appear in visions and holograms throughout the movie, and end with Rey physically meeting him at the end.

That's pretty confident.
Personally, I think it's more likely the Chewie with the Falcon.

You're sceptical because the opening statement... even though the rest of his comment suggests it's basically impossible to not be intentional?

 

But why do you need any confirmation at all? How else do you envision this scene playing out?
Whether Luke appears at some point or not, Rey's character needs to take the lightsaber and fight after Finn is injured. She is being portrayed as a tough self sufficient woman, she is not going to just stay there crying, she needs to accept the force calling to her, to let it in.

 

I fully believe that Rey will be a Jedi. But I think that's Finn the whole time. His complexion through out the trailer is light. Also in some of the screen grabs you can make out the red of his shoulder.

 

Great catch! But as said above not really a surprise for me I gues. Hope she will not confuse the fighting techniques between a staff and a lightsaber

In some shots you can see it's Rey because of her bracer vs Finn's jacket sleeve, check the images of Rey earlier in the video to compare.

 

Yeah pretty much. I'm just a big worry wart. I mean my husband is 100% convinced she's Luke's daughter and will be the lead of the trilogy while I'm just hoping it turns out that way. I don't want to be crushed with disappointment.

If I get confirmation that Rey is a force user then I'm set to skip past other spoilers and watch the movie with what I already know. It's literally the last spoiler I'm waiting for, force user or not.

That said I won't keep ruining this thread with my own worries. I've done enough bitching on here and reddit to last a lifetime. I was just pointing out that it's POSSIBLE it could be a non-spoiler. Either way it's really neat to see Rey with a lightsaber.

 

Well I think you're being blind...

It's not just the complexion that is off (because even his in-game complexion is different to this one)... it's the costume.
The arms clearly have that "desert-planet-wrap" look that Rey's costume has.
You can also see the "desert-planet-Jedi-layers" that Rey wears sticking out in parts.

It's clearly not Finn.
