For this fight in particular? Or just saber training in general? For Kylo to be taken seriously, Finn shouldn't last more than a few parries, imo.

 

So your saying then both Rey and Finn should get totally owned for Kylo to be seen as a true threat.

 

For this fight.

Neither should Rey to be honest, but the idea is they are empowered with the Force.

 

If you are watching the trailer at full speed and not paying super close attention then its easy to assume it's finn even though the actual fight shots are rey. Then on top of that they purposely cut the trailer to hide rey. IMO, if this was completely inconsequential they would have cut the trailer to show how both characters can fight kylo, yet they are using finn to hide rey.

 

So if they're 8/10 and them not believing Rey is related to anyone. Do you believe that? And if it is true will this cause people not to like the movie?

What probably happens is Rey goes first and gets force push/choked or whatever so its just Kylo Ren and Finn which we see in the trailer. Finn fends him off for a bit, helmet comes off...Kylo gets serious and wrecks Finn. Rey wakes up to see that and goes ape blast on Kylo with the Saber.


This is the only way I can imagine the scene going to at least be satisfying to everyone..IMHO

 

Just as long as I can use Finn with that lightsaber in this, I'm good.

And maybe what may happen if this game is depicting the film is something like Rey and Finn trading the lightsaber a la Civil War trailer with the shield on Iron Man. (Great trailer)

Kylo takes down Rey which pisses Finn the hell off and he goes in on Kylo, dramatic fight, and Kylo takes him down.....and LUKE SKYWALKER STEPS IN, BEFORE THEY ARE BOTH DESTROYED.

Cue standing ovation.

 

After some "forensic" action-figure-ology , I'm pretty sure that is Rey.

Comparing these two pics, using my 6" Rey, you can see her utility pouch and right shoulder-





Rey also has a dark brown wrap on her left wrist, and a light tan one on her right, which corresponds with these two pics-

 

It might be Finn, it might be Rey.

Fact is they will BOTH fight with the saber and they will BOTH be the heroes.

Let's just have pie and be happy.

 

Most of their opinions/speculation that Rey is not related comes from some of their "sources" and not necessarily the outline. The outline itself has been very accurate from all of the info we have seen. While Rey is likely related, I still think we may not find out to who in this movie. If she is not related to Skywalker/Solo it won't factor in on my like/dislike of this movie. However, I can't speak for others

If this is applicable to the movie, all it does is pile onto the other info that she takes up the sabre against Kylo. No one is trying to make this a rey vs finn argument.

 

Well, we already know Kylo is a genuine threat, which is why he should dispatch of Finn relatively quickly. It should be noted that the stormtrooper that takes on Finn seems to be doing a reasonable job of holding his own, suggesting Finn only has basic training in melee combat.

Rey should be able to hold her own for a little longer (assuming she is Force sensitive). But, both Finn and Rey shouldn't be any match for our villain at this stage in their journey.

 

The Lucasfilm-licensed Hasbro (boo) Star Wars card game had Kylo Ren at an 8 out of 10 value level, and Rey at a 7 out of 10 value level. Luke, Yoda, Palpatine, and Vader were the 10s. It was obviously tilted toward force sensitives for the highest tiers.

I suppose that's true, but the assumption for most of us has been that the lightsaber duel in the snow is the climax of the film, and it doesn't seem likely to me that they'll have 3 people show up to fight Kylo, but I could be wrong....Finn fights and loses, then Rey fights and...kinda loses, but then, Luke shows up? Sounds clunky to me, but I'll take as much Luke as I can get in this movie, particularly if it involves a lightsaber duel....

 

Like I said, I'd be down for it....

 

I think that shot of the Falcon going through the trees during the day is the crash landing. Not it taking off.
