DJ who is he, and is he Good or Bad & Rey's Father ?

If Rian follows "It Takes a Thief" and Finn is the one mistrusted. Then its possible that something goes down and Finn is marginalized due to suspicion but tries to get to the bottom of things. DJ might be the real "thief" (one who actually did whatever happened) or has information Finn needs to get to the bottom of things.

I have the feeling that DJ will play along with Finn and the Resistance, get what he wants, and leave them hanging.

You can say Lando-esque, but Lando was actually trying to save his friend by giving up someone he didnt know. DJ won't have the same emotional attachment and will play Finn and Tran like a fiddle, leaving for a rough ending like any good Part 2 of 3 would do.

Han also trusted Lando. Finn wont have the same feelings for DJ. We are going to think DJ is untrustworthy, then be pulled in to thinking "hey, he might be alright" . . . right before he brings it all crashing down on us.

 

And the article also confirms that the building in the Canto Bight photo is the casino, not a prison or holding pen for the Falthier's like I was thinking. So, is the shot from the BTS reel of the casino with that big open window looking out to space/water the back (back to us but maybe actual front) of the building that we don't see?

 

So if we take that article at face value (and I see no reason why we shouldn't) then DJ is likely in jail on Canto Bight (Cantonica?) due to hacking the gambling systems on that planet for his own gain. A professional cheat, a galactic Danny Ocean if you will.

Why would they need a codebreaker? Perhaps they want to break FO communications code (think WW2 enigma cracking) and then locate Snoke so that they can end the conflict before it has fully begun, cut off the head of the snake. Hence why the final battle of TLJ might take place on Snoke's super star destroyer we keep hearing about.

Is that all there is to him? Probably, but they keep on referring to him as an enigmatic character and Trans description of him on set is weird:

I suspect the blue screen will be added to extend the casino so that it looks bigger... possibly to ad aliens that they didn't want to depict with puppets and mask.

 

I think DJ could be smuggler that is smuggling and selling that red mineral,or spice,or whatever it is ,one that Resistance is mining on Crate to finance themselves.

Though, I don't think Star Wars is entirely innocent in this. Phasma, for instance, was involved in far too much marketing for her place in the film. I wouldn't be surprised if DJ ends up being the same way, but only because it's Star Wars.

 

Del Torro is a world Class actor,it will
be waste not to give him notable complex role.His role of Che Guevarra for instance was a masterpiece.He is such great actor.

 

Totally, he's a fantastic actor.

I'm just saying, Star Wars has a lot of bit characters and weird cameos. I'd be kinda surprised if he gets more than 10 minutes of screentime.

My prediction... reading from my crystal ball.

BDT plays Gannis Ducain.
The same that stole the Falcon to Solo.
He's a criminal, and a master hacker.
His "Hacking" will, at the end of the day, save the resistance.
His "Hacking" will, on Crait, help find a way to destroy the Walkers.

He, and Finn, will play big part in giving the Resistance a chance to survive this war.

Of all the theories I hope she's not Rey's father. Although if DJ is Duccain it will make her more than a nobody.
