Do the Resistance know Rey wields the Force?

I was in the process of starting another thread when I stumbled on this and found it more interesting.

In TFA, all of Rey's obvious displays of force powers are done away from her allies. Mind trick, pulling the lightsaber. Sure Finn was there, but he was unconscious.

Other powers on display was her piloting skills and wielding a lightsaber, but those can be explained away without jumping to the conclusion she has the force.

Even in TLJ, the Resistance only sees her wield the force at the end with the boulders.

Chewbacca may have seen something, but from the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon and distance, I doubt he sees anything in TFA. Obviously in TLJ he must see her train.

There are obviously possible explanations for this. She could have told them. Leia could have sensed it. She has Luke's lightsaber. Maz could have said more off screen to Leia as it seems Maz knows something.

Beyond that, the Resistance really didn't and doesn't need to know, but the cat's out of the bag now after TLJ. I would think this would invariably change how people perceive her moving forward. Luke's last apprentice would have a certain prestige, and I would think in many ways Rey's coming out party as a force user would be at least just as inspiring to the cause as Luke's sacrifice.

As much as Luke's feat may have inspired people to step forward and fight the FO, I would think his death would dampen spirits at least a little. Knowing that they still have an ace in the hole in Rey I would think would work far better to get an army on board then the knowledge that the other force user died.

So do you think the Reistance knew she was a force wielder before TLJ? Did Finn or anyone? Will her boulder levitation be a rallying cry or major or minor theme at the beginning of EPIX?

I think the most members of the Resistance aren't even familiar what the force even is and what it can do.

Before TLJ I think only Finn, Chewie, Maz and maybe even Han know for a certainty. Poe could have heard about her special powers.

The novels say that the Resistance knows. It's also explained to them that's why Leia sent Rey to go get Luke and not any Resistance members.

Though being told about it, and actually seeing Force powers are two different things.

Rose even tells Finn, that when Rey returns she'll probably be different because she'll be Jedi trained now.
Finn tells her, he doesn't believe she'll change (personality wise).

not sure Finn knew until the boulders.
pretty sure Leia must have known or sensed it.

interestingly, nobody is mugging her about it at the end of TLJ.
Poe introduces himself, but they just say hi.
and in the very last shot, she's sitting there, alone until Leia joins her.

Snoke: The seed of the Jedi Order lives. As long as it does, hope lives in the galaxy.

I imagine, yes, Rey would be the new symbol of the Jedi and thereby a figurehead for hope in the galaxy. That is . . . if JJ wants to continue that theme.
It was the end of a very long day.

I think very few knew until the end of TLJ. Im sure force sensitives like Maz, Lea, Snoke, and Kylo knew but not every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the resistance. What little she used in TFA, was only seen by a Stormtroopper ( who may not remember it) and Kylo. You could agrue there may have been some off scene conversations at the Resistance base before going to find Luke but I wouldn't think the majority knew until the end of TLJ.

Finn was so busy during TLJ, I doubt it crossed his mind either that Rey was force sensitive. Especially since he didn't see her grab the lightsaber on Starkiller Base.

Plus when Finn sees Rey holding the boulders at the end of TLJ, he seems a little shocked at first by her power.

In the novelization (for whatever that’s worth) Finn knows where Rey went and why.
    Wouldn't you be? :D

"Ha! I laugh at your piddly little rocks. I just made a bunch of people think they saw a 60 year old man for a couple of minutes . . . and it killed me. Now that's TRUE power!"

Good OP and another example highlighting the poor writing in the ST.

This is the kind of question that pops up in a capable and active writers' room. What about this, what about that, how can we use this to add suspense, how can we use this to highlight character, etc.

Does Rose know what is a Jedi ?
    If we remember correctly...
    - Jedi are all but extinct since Order 66. I mean it makes at least 50 years. I guess Rose is less than 35 years old, so Jedi have totally disappeared 15 years before Rose was born.
    - Since the Great Purge, only 2 were surviving in clandestinity, and they have carefully avoided showing themselves all these years long
    - 30 years before Rose's words, by the times of ANH, Han Solo - who boasted having traveled the whole galaxy - was not aware what Jedi were. Even Luke knew nothing about them and didn't know what the Force is.

    So.
Did Luke told the Galaxy about the Jedi, after Endor and before he vanished ?
=> If so, what did the people of the galaxy think about the Jedi Order after his failure? Are they supposed to still rely on the Jedi (this seems hard to me) ?
=> Else, who told the Galaxy the Jedi would be their saviors ?
In both cases (Luke told the Galaxy, or he didn't) it appears to me that random people should rather feel - at least - interrogative, even suspicious, about the Jedi.

If someone yell "Rey is a jedi" loudly enough in the Falcon, it could be easily fixed !

I think Leia knows. I’m not sure the others know anything beyond the fact that she’s being sent to find Luke Skywalker, because most of them watch her and Chewie leave in the Falcon at the end of The Force Awakens. But I’m sure some of them — at least people like Poe, who were close with Leia and knew about her search for Luke — had to suspect something considering she was sending some random girl to find Luke.
