The Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be...unnatural. I think Sith Magic and Nightsister Magic are similar. They both seem to need Chants and charms to work. I believe the Nightsisters found another way to harness the dark side energy (their powers are primarily dark side oriented it seems). I hope we get more history on the Nightsisters in future canon. I dont have a problem with it tbh.

I politely disagree. The Force is something that “penetrates, binds us..” and is everywhere. Logically, various cultures would use this energy in different ways. What I though could have been improved in The Clone Wars was that some of Mother Talzin’s witchcraft seemed indistinguishable to the stereotypical voodoo seen in cartoons and movies, Like the evil queen on Snow White with a boiling cauldron and book of spells. If we were living in a non-Harry Potter world I wouldn’t mind as much, but Star Wars should be more than just Harry Potter.
Force Projections, like the trick Luke Skywalker pulled in the Last Jedi I liked because it was different. I would like to see more stuff like that. (But please no time travel.)

Actually I believe it was the Ewok movies that first introduced other magic into Star Wars, although as I understand it that witch from the second movie was later retconned to actually be a Nightsister.

I liked the Nightsisters, Battle For Endor notwithstanding, but hope their magic is considered the dark side of the force utilised in another more primitive way; not a fan of hocus pocus existing in Star Wars for the sake of it, I like it all to be tied together with a unified idea.

Star Wars is a fantasy universe, that keeps contantly evolving, based on what writers need at the moment. RotJ added force lightning, CW added the nightsisters and gods of Mortis, Rebels had Bendu and World between Worlds, TLJ - force projection etc. etc. Typical sci-fi stuff gets included, like Geonosian brain parasites, other brain parasites and ancient Jedi conciosness in a crystal from the Aphra comic etc.
So yeah, I'm fine with almost anything, as long as there is a plausible (fantasy-plausible, not science-plausible) explanation.

I honestly really do like non force related magic in star wars! I feel like it shows that there's much more than the force when it comes to the terms of "spiritual magic" in the little cultures of the franchise

Same feeling here. I was a bit stressed to see a completely new type of villain which also uses the force in a bizzare new ways. Steeling force essence wasn't really start wars like.

The Jedi follow a dogma and canon of what it means to be a Jedi. The Sith in contrast are a collection of diverse cults that share only two similiarities: The Sith Code, and practicing Dark Side of the Force.

Within the Sith cults have contradicting views. The Legions of Lettow and Darth Malgus’ Acolytes were Numerious Sith armies with lighysabers ans powers which is opposed by Darth Bane’s Rule of Two; that only two Sith be at any time, a master and apprentice. Then there is the New Sith who believed in the Rule of One, one Dark Lord and many Sith warriors and sabers (knights). The Sith’ari, a Sith Chosen One who will destroy the Sith and raise them from the dead to become more powerful. The Nightsisters are another cult, according to their enemies they are Dark Siders, but ask the Sisters and you will hear that they do not believe they practice the Dark Side, that this is a vain Sith caricature of the Force; though they do confess to using Dark Side powers, again they do not see these powers as Boganism (Dark Side), but as manifestations of their Magick and the Force.

Nightsisters could very well could see themselves as Jed’aii or Benduists who use Ashla (Light Side) and Bogan (Dark Side) equally. But the Sisters certain use of the Dark Side qualifies them for a place among the annals of the Sith.

I have the writings of the Nightsisters. I need to examine them further and opine.

I LOVE the force-related magic in Star Wars. I love learning about different cultures and how the Force flows through them. It adds a sense of mystery, wonder, inclusion, and both understanding and lack thereof to the Star Wars universe.
