Chris Pine was fine, at times sublime, now all I'm doing is trying to rhyme.

For real though......it's the character we go to see. Not the actor. I give you James Bond. No really, I give him to you. Here. So many guys have played the character, all we really remember now is the character.

But Roger Moore IS James Bond. License to kill.....ladies man...the cars.....etc. Roger Moore could play Han Solo. Roger Moore SHOULD have played Han Solo.

To summarize: Chris Pine was fine.

EDIT: You just admitted you enjoyed a Star Treks movie. You aren't Star Wars enough. *wink*

Please, don't missunderstand me, but for me it just looks like a "flop". Not that I didn't like it, but for me, the "wow"-moment, that is able to get people, who aren't as SW-crazy as we are, walking into the cinema, was missing. It's hard to say, but it also looked (in terms of SW) a little bit "cheap". Sorry, I can't describe it better (especially in this language, that is not my mother language).Maybe this example will help: When I saw Donald Glover as Lando, he looked cool, yeah, but I also had to remember the mirror-Abed with the "wrong beard"...

Nonetheless, I will go into the cinema. At this point, SW-trailers are a bit wortheless for me, because they have no effect on my decision to watch the next SW-movie. Maybe, after Episode IX, this will be different, but not today.

I tend to agree. This film is already a flop. Episode 9 (or whatever they will end up calling it/numbering it) is already a total flop. /sarcasm

To be realz.... I thought the trailer did enough to pique my interest. (I get points for using the word 'pique' in a sentence correctly). So count me among the legion who are piqued.

It looked fun. It looked like it belonged. Not sure it looked like my version of Han Solo's rise to prominence as the greatest scoundrel ever, but who knows?

Side note: Is Han Solo the greatest scoundrel ever? Is that a real title/mantle and should it be explained in canon?

The trailer for me was meh. I was much more excited by the mission impossible trailer and even the Dundee trailer from the last few days.

I am one of those people who have not been looking forward to this movie. The story does not need to be told, it actually diminishes Han Solo as a character in my opinion. There was nothing about the trailer that blew me away, it was adequate nothing more and this trailer did nothing to make me change my anticipation of the film. I didn't hate anything about it so that is a plus. The snowpiercer, electronic dance bad guys and the giant tentacle thing did put me off a little. I didn't get the Han Solo feels either but that is not a deal breaker for me. Glover looks on the money for what little I saw of him. Didn't hear him talk of course.

This might have been pointed out by someone else but I felt like Solo's line at the end of the trailer "Things looked bad for a second but we're fine, we're fine" (Just quoting from memory there)

While certainly being some familiar Han Solo type humor. Does anyone thinks that this also plays as a reference to the production of the film itself? Reminds me of Rian Johnson speaking to us through the Last Jedi trailer with "This is not going to go the way you think!"

    Just a thought.

After watching the trailers a good few times, overall I'm fairly happy and interested.

Aesthetically (similar to Rogue One) the film looks like the OT, it has the right feel to it IMO. I have not been on board with the new trilogy at all, but loved the other anthology film. It looks dark, nihilistic and represents the mood of the universe very well (unless you love the Empire ofc).

Characters look fantastic and I'm happy (with one exception with the cast). Donald Glover (Lando) stole the show for me, the charisma his provides is a great match, Woody Harrelson's character could be a fan favourite too, I think most people can agree Woody is a perfect choice for the universe. My only gripe is Alden playing Solo, it does't feel like the persona of Han to me, but of course, it's a trailer and a not a film...and i've seen less than 2 mins.... so 'Don't get cocky, Kids'.

I liked it a lot and there are moments I genuinely love (like standoff, Falcon in action, certain shots). I also like Alden well enough in a role of younger Han, but to get behind him 100% I need a bigger sample. Hopefully in the second trailer. Some moments were truly Han like, the others were a bit awkward, not bad per se but lacking context. But, I am very optimistic after seeing both Super Bowl spot and the teaser. I do like that he isn't imitating Harrison Ford, but trying to be Han. After all the turmoil with the directors and reshoots, the footage did a great job of reassuring me.

I liked the music in the SB teaser. Especially at the beginning. The guitar made it sound edgy and might be a precursor to the style of the film.

Not sure how many parallel universes that you are going to have to visit before you find one where a film that had a budget of $200 million - $250 million and ended up pulling in over $1.3 BILLION from the box office is considered a bomb, but I wish you luck.

I honestly don't know how I feel about any of this yet. Probably best to wait for the film.
But just going by the footage (not my preconceived misgivings about the concept), I'm kinda like this:

I'm excited to see a Han Solo film. I think there is room for some great humour and fun. At the same time, I'm worried as hell about this guy pulling it off and it being a disaster of a film. I've always felt that there was probably a better route to go down. But just going by the footage - the actor seems ok but it's hard to judge. Some of the visuals look great. The trailer music was new and I like new (and it was cool which is another plus). I think Glover will likely nail the Lando role. Villain looks good. I don't however like Emilia Clarke as an actress. I cringe a lot at her in GoT.

I dunno, I can't work it out. Don't know if I liked the trailer or not. Don't know what they're going for stylistically with the film. Don't know if Alden Ehrenreich will be right. Not particularly keen on seeing Woody Harrelson in a Star Wars film. But it's Star Wars, it's Solo, it's the Falcon...what's the worst that can happen?

I think it was alright. The visuals look great, and overall I think Alden seems fine (though I set my mind to expect it not to feel completely like Han, I'll just try to imagine it).
However, at first it didn't feel like Star Wars to me, and I think it was largely because of the music. Though, I'm a film- and videogame composer myself, so music usually affects my view of movie and trailers more than for others (for good and bad). While I appreciate the change in tone, the music just feel very generic to me. However, it's grown a bit on my since my first viewing!

I really didn't like how the "SOLO" logo flew in together with a quite weird sounding starwars fanfare. That looked like windows movie maker to be honest, but not a big deal.

Anyhow, I look forward to the movie, but I've never been overly hyped for it. But I'll go in and enjoy it. :)

I thought that the teaser did its job which was to get me interested in seeing the movie. You could nitpick things in it at this point but until the movie opens and you get to see how the scenes play out in the narrative then you really won't know how it's going to work. For me the biggest thing that I was looking for was did it feel like it belonged in the Star Wars universe? I didn't get that feeling much with the Super Bowl trailer but the full teaser felt that way to me.

    Couple of observations:

Did anyone else get a Khan vibe from the main villain on the beach? His face mask definitely looked a little like Khan's when he first shows up in Wrath of Khan.

Donald Glover looks like Lando in the shots that we've gotten of him so far. I hope he has an interesting arch in the movie.

Is Emilia Clarke walking away from the falcon in the one shot or is that another YT-1300? The bulk head above the landing ramp just looks different.

    Yahoo!

Looks fantastic. I know for some Alden will take some getting used to as Han. But it’s fine, he was never going to be Harrison Ford, will be interesting to see Alden’s portrayal of Han.

And everything else looks amazing. I’m far more curious about the new characters anyways. And we’re going to see Corellia on screen, maybe also Mimban? Are we even going to see the Maw? The image of the destroyer in a nebula or whatever is cool as ****

And Lando is perfect, even without speaking Glover is just a perfect Lando. I love the synchronized salute with the droid.

Maybe that's the point. This is "The Star Wars Western". Much like the saga films (particularly The Last Jedi) have a lot of references to Kurosawa samurai films, wouldn't it make sense for Solo to feature some Western tropes?

What really gets me about this oft-repeated line is that this was actually the Lucas spin-off idea, and it was written by Kasdan who loves it and says it is one of his best works.
