SPECULATION Do you think MSW will have another plot summary this time for Ep. VIII?

i suspect the amount of 'possibly credible' spoilers from MSW and other SW news sites will be significantly higher for ep8 than ep7.

i say 'possibly credible' because it's an awful lot easier to manufacture something credible as we have the start of the story now. even i could come up with something plausible and i have zero imagination lol.

I think it will be a lot harder to avoid spoilers by the end of this year, and yes.. i imagine MSW will be up there getting things we do/don't want to know about.

 

probably not a full summary. I think they will have enough sources that carried over from TFA to VIII. However i think a lot of the high quality info for TFA, that went through multiple hands including MSW, came about as a consequence of some employee's getting sacked. I think someone from production actually said this publicly but i'm blanking on the person. If that is right, it's not a shocker that JJ's secrecy plans crumbled so fast, people with a grudge don't care about pieces of paper they signed.

Also, we can't forget that spoilers can now come simply from social media. People like @MagnarTheGreat were on the ball for day one, tracking Hamill's tweets and estimating time on set, which gave us an extremely detailed view that "limited luke" was accurate. So it doesn't even have to be out and out "sources" now.

I expect MSW/SWNN/SWU to be just as credible for VIII as they were for TFA, and I expect a lot of spoilers to come out because Rian is not JJ. Outside those three websites i just don't bother reading through other scoops. They are my "go-to" sources.

 

i'm pretty bad with predictions , but i have this feeling that after Teaser 1, so maybe around Celebration Europe (July), something big might come out via MSW/SWNN/SWU. I think teaser 1 for VIII will roughly be as vague as TFA teaser 1, but from that moment on wards I think the floodgates could open. again, i'm crappy with predictions

 

I'm gonna go ahead and beat-him-to-the-punch and reveal, my sources say, Luke will have more screen time in VIII

 

I doubt we will get an early teaser for Ep8 like we did for TFA. Disney is going to have a hard enough time getting audiences to understand that Rogue One takes place in a different time period as it is. To avoid further confusion, I expect them to withhold the first teaser for Ep8 until Rogue One actually hits theaters.

If I'm right, it will create a new dynamic with the spoilers, since we won't have footage to confirm what's being said about the movie until very late in the game.

The spoilers themselves should start to leak out soon after filming begins. MSW probably won't get a complete shooting schedule this time, but I still expect them to get glimpses of concept art, and other bits and pieces enough to keep the information flowing. By the time the movie gets released, there aren't likely to be many secrets left uncovered - but the full picture will probably take longer to come into focus.

 

It seems they did a fantastic job protecting the script this time around. If they continue their protocol in the next films, script leaks are unlikely.

It seems like the source of leaks for MSW was somewhere in post production, as their descriptions were based on order of shots, with limited plot details and no dialogue. I have to imagine their source was fired or the security around this has been stepped up.

My bet is we get general set leaks this time around, and not a full tear down of the film. I think there's an outside chance they get too comfortable with early scripts, since that wasn't a leak source in TFA, and we see an early version leak.

 

I think that they will. They'll make it VERY clear that RO is an OT-era film in the marketing. They might even put some footage/dialogue from ANH in the trailer, as a connection. Maybe even Vader, or at least a reference to him being around (which would tell anyone who's seen either ROTJ or TFA that this is before that, since Vader dies in ROTJ and his burned/charred helmet is in Kylo Ren's possession in TFA).

Plus the fact that Rey, Finn, Kylo, Poe, etc will be nowhere to be seen in the marketing should clue people in that this is something different.

As for Episode VIII, I do wonder if Rian Johnson will be quite as obsessed with secrecy as JJ was? Perhaps he'll be a bit more open during the process, within reason of course.

 

I think they will be keeping a closer eye on the employees this go around. We won't see as many leaked stories as we did before. Consider how much we actually know about Rogue One.

 

I wasn't a believer of MSW back during the TFA leaks but it would appear they got a lot right. I'm thinking they have the same sources for Episode 8 and will most likely get the same leaks. Aren't they already getting Rogue One leaks or hinting at going to be getting some? I think they have some good source(s). I just want to see TMZ leak the first set pics like they did for TFA!

 

They were accurate with TFA leaks but still every leak I will take as a grain of salt until confirmed. Keeps my head clear of judgement
