SPECULATION Do you think we will see any of the familiar alien species in The Force Awakens i.e. Rodian, Twilek?

I know this is an old thread, but it seemed like the most appropriate place to comment on this topic, which still seems to be raising a lot of eyebrows. People keep complaining that we're not seeing more familiar alien species in the film.

I totally don't understand this complaint. First, look at the prequels. Very few returning species. Second, look at the OT itself. Between IV V and VI very few species show up multiple times.

So to me it's the most true to Star Wars (both OT and PT) to have very few returning species in this movie as well. Am I missing something?

I thought I remembered seeing a Quarren in some kind of promo... Then again Quarren weren't OT were they?

Well seeing that Abrams has tried nearly everything to pander to the fans, I'm not quite if we'll be seeing any of the 'classic' aliens....

I agree with there being no need for too many 'classic' aliens.

We've seen many species once and never again; Geonosians, Kaminoans, Ewoks, many of the cantina aliens. Twi'leks, Mon Calamari, and Quarren basically disappeared between Episodes III and VI. Gungans, too.

It's a big galaxy, and we're seeing planets we've never heard about before. I prefer they keep adding (although it would be nice to see old alien designs appear in unexpected places. How about a Rodian X-Wing pilot?).

I would liker to see some old aliens too.

PT had a great mix of old and new aliens.

I don't know about any Rodians or Twi'leks, but we will see at least one Mon Calamari, Wookie and Sullustan in TFA, that's for sure.
