SPECULATION Do you think we'll get new Force lore?

I could see Mando finding some Sith and Jedi Holocrons in his travels. What I hope is he gets a bounty on a Force-Sensitive, even a Jedi who survived the Purge.

 

Personally, I don't think Star Wars should always be about force users and their stuff, and at the moment The Mandalorian does seem to aim mostly for a Space Western thing. However, the show does take place in a very important period in the timeline that we don't know much about yet, so there is the possibility that LFL will use The Mandalorian to explore some overarching meta plot stuff that bridges the OT & ST. (And, IMHO, force stories should always be meta plot only, less it looses the mystique and becomes ordinary in the setting. For example, the decision to scrap the original idea of having Jyn's mum be a Jedi-in-exile in Rogue One was VERY wise, I think. Sure, it would be cool to see her fling a lightsaber around before the Death Troopers gunned her down, but it would also cheapen the Force/Jedi presence in Star Wars overall...).

I would sort of prefer it if they kept The Mandalorian a non-magic thing, similar to Solo:ASWS and, for the most part, Rogue One (although I would love me some more Church of the Force appearances! More culture in Star Wars, please ). I would instead like for LFL to develop another, separate show (with young CGI-faced Han, Luke, Leia, please?) to bridge the trilogies (possibly borrowing some beats from Legends material such as the Thrawn Trilogy).

And then there's a last point, that I brought up in the spoiler thread I made, that, if true, would DEFINITELY push The Mandalorian into force lore territory, and that is my theory that...

...since we know, from the SW Celebration clip, that Mando is hired in the show to pursue a 50 year old trail & that he will definitely go to Tatooine at some point based on the poster etc., this could correspond to the Mando somehow investigating Anakin's birth/miraculous conception on Tatooine 50 years prior to the show (i.e. the timeline fits this interpretation spot on). It is, of course, quite likely that I am guessing wrongly here and I call it a "spoiler" just on the off chance that I am right...

So in conclusion, we don't know enough at this point to make any kind of educated guess, but at present I put the odds of The Mandalorian covering force stuff to about 20-30%, unless I am correct in my speculative theory on the show's main plot, in which case my odds go up to 100%.

So, yeah... I don't think I could be more on the fence than that, right?

 

I actually want to see Mando slay a Jedi, Jango Style:

 

I think so. It's 5 years after Jedi, and the Aftermath series set up the Acolytes of the Beyond and the idea of people or groups searching for artifacts. So hopefully we will see some of that, and those groups, here. We should also see/hear/learn something about the other force worshippers like the Church of the Force that was mentioned in The Force Awakens.

 

Do you think Disney will introduce into NEw Canon some of the Force Groups in Legends? I would love to see Jensaarai and other fringe Force Users become canon.
