SPECULATION Do you want to see Mon Mothma or Bail Organa in Rogue One?

Obviously Leia can't be in it (Carrie's too old now), so her step-father, Bail Organa should. Jimmy Smits would hopefully agree to return.

 

I wouldn't include Leia anyway. Too many "big name" primary characters may be distracting to the plot and story of the Anthology film. Afterall, its not officially an "Episode".

 

Since she is already a character in TFA, I don't want to see her in another role as Leia.

 

Given the Hosnian system was allegedly Mon Mothma's home system, yes any lore about that planet would be cool, but I also wonder if Rogue One also shows Lor San Tekka? Seems like a nifty opportunity to show his roots.

 

I really hope we see both Bail and Mon at the Massassi temple, tasking Felicity Jones' character and the other Rogue One characters with stealing the Death Star plans.

 

Absolutely. They're the leaders of the Rebellion and yet we barely see them in the original trilogy. I'd love to know what they were doing around the time of ANH.

 

Age-wise Smits would be fine too, it's over a decade since ROTS in real time and maybe 18 - 20 years in Star Wars time so I don't see a problem with having him appear.

 

I am going to be sorely disappointed if Bail Organa doesn't show up in this. He was directly involved with the mission to steal the Death Star plans, after all. Mon Mothma I don't mind so much, but it would be nice.

 

It would make sense for Bail to appear in Rogue One seeing as he is one of the leaders of the Rebel Alliance. Also we know for a fact that the Death Star plans end up in his daughter's possession by the beginning of A New Hope. I think a case could be made for Mon Mothma appearing as well since she is also one of the leaders of the Alliance.

 

I think it would be cool to see Mon Mothma as much as it would to see Admiral Ackbar and General Madine. Bail would be cool as well but I figured he would be more into taking care of things on his home planet as this is where he was when he died in ANH. Another thing that I hope to see in action are more old ships like the Y-Wings as these were used alongside the X-Wings at that time. The other thing that I would love to see yet I am almost sure we won't is for some of the minor background characters to take place in the squad. It wouldn't hurt to see guys like Orrimaarko or Lak Sivrak in the squad as this would let the movie flow nicley with the others and not just give us a bunch of totally unknown characters that are going to do something extremly heroic in this movie just to be totally unkown guys during the events of the OT. Finally I would just love to see some R5 droids in action as well as seeing a Power Droid doing it's job of reenergizing a ship or some equipment as all we ever see of them is they walking around gonking and this would be a great chance as well of letting us have a better view of the Vehicle Maintenance Energizer wich I loved sinse I was a kid!

 

I'd be fine with both, but I really would like to see Bail.
I agree that it'd be cool to see Jimmy make a return, and I -- for some reason -- feel like he was more of a getting his hands dirty kinda guy than Mon Mothma was.

 

To have at least Bail would be awesome. I don't think having Leia would be really good (maybe just mentioned or a glimpse of the Tantive ship leaving Alderaan - but not her).

With some characterization, Jimmy Smits would look perfect to come back. Just don't include Leia on it.

It would make a lot of sense, and since Leia ends up with the plans It wouldn't be crazy to have her in it as well, maybe in the end and not too visible.

No! I'd rather have all new Characters. I don't see Bail or Mon having any direct action on finding the plans. They would be just Big Picture characters and really wouldn't add to the story.
