SPECULATION Do you want to see Mon Mothma or Bail Organa in Rogue One?

She's already a character in the universe .

 

Yep. If they're going to put her on the film it should be only at the very end of it. Just a few seconds, from a distance, maybe when she is boarding the Tantive IV?

I'd prefer Bail Organa because Jimmy Smits was a highlight of The PT if I haven't said it already...also has anyone realized that Kor Sella has a passing resemblance to Bail Organa? What if they are related in some manner as Bail Orgsna was a representative as well for Alderaan ?

 

Both of them were key members of the Rebel Alliance. Being this movie specific about a Rebel operation, I would expect to see them both, at least in minor roles.
Bail would be more important than Mon at this point. I would expect him to still be the leader of the rebel cells, as depicted in SW Rebels. He may not be killed in action in the movie, but may end up "celebrating" in Alderaan, after receiving new of the success of the mission.
Mon would be a nice to have in this story, perhaps a foot note in the movie, as a leader of an individual cell, perhaps not connected to the Rogue One group directly.

 

I can definitely see Bail Organa appearing, and I'd like to see it personally. He was an early leader of the Rebellion and Leia was trying to get the DS plans to him. Plus I can see him being involved in planning the operation. I'm less sure that Mon Mothma appearing, but I could see it happening. And I'd be cool with that as well.

I do think that Leia will make a cameo near the end as well, in order to set up the beginning of ANH.
It makes very little sense from Disney/LF's perspective to completely close the door on using "younger Leia," be it in OT-era stuff or perhaps in stuff set in the era between ROTJ and TFA, just because some segments of the fandom cannot see anyone but Carrie in the role.

And it has nothing to do with "disrespecting" Carrie, they clearly DO respect her. Heck they brought her back for the ST after all. It's about what makes the most sense for the long-term success of this franchise, in their opinion.

I can see Billie Lourd as a young Leia, with a little bit of hair dye.

 

I voted for both of them to come back, although I hope their roles would be not much more than a cameo. It'd be nice to see some new faces in the Rebellion leadership, but I think a hologram message from Bail Organa or Mon Mothma would be a cool easter egg. There's a way they could do it while still keeping the focus on new characters.

Apologies if this is too far off subject, but if we're talking cameos, one I'd really like to see is a young Admiral Ackbar...Perhaps Ackbar gets promoted at the end of the movie after one of his superior officers bites it? Maybe he's a lower-level officer who makes a brilliant observation that helps win the day? Again, I'd like this to be a small easter egg and not a focus of the main plot...and I know he's already got a cameo in TFA...and I know the actor was kinda miffed about the whole experience...But I love me some Ackbar.

 

Certainly, but her character in TFA isn't going to overlap Rogue One. That said, it doesn't have to be Billie, I just think she'd be a nice choice!

 

I'd really like them to at least be mentioned or have a transmission segment because it's true that they were integral in the formation of the alliance. Even if it's like "This is blank, he's from mon mothma's cell of rebels, or was sent by her to help us.

I don't need an on-screen appearance, but a nod I would really want.

 

you might be right what most do not know about him is he was a mercenary in his younger years and the people he lives amoung at the beginning of tfa at one time he did something bad to them in the book he tells Kylo he has made peace with them . Kylo brings that up to his face.

basically a doppelganger. This has to be the best casting for a movie i've ever seen.

 

Apparently they got Genevive O'Reilly (who played Mon Mothma in the RotS deleted scenes) back! I think she's perhaps just a *tad* young for this time in Mon Mothma's life, but still! That's really dang good!

Agree. When she said "A major weapon's test is imminent." it totally sounds like ROTJ Mon Mothma! ("The Emperor has made a critical error...") Impressive.

 

I just remembered that this same actress played her in a deleted scene in ROTS. But, but I thought that Disney HATED the PT and wanted us to forget them?
