To end it you have to not have remaining dependents of Anakin, right?

No, it just means that there were won't be any new Skywalker movies after IX. At least for a long time I guess.

Killing off all remaining Skywalkers wouldn't be a satisfying ending for the saga. IMO Kylo Ren should break free of the "Skywaler Curse" and survive redeemed.

You can have a satisfying ending/conclusion without there being more death.

I wouldn't mind Kylo surviving and going back to the light, but if what I heard about him in TROS happens then I'm ok with it as well.

No, not at all. While I personally put Kylo's chances of surviving the film low, he doesn't need to die. The Skywalker Saga is ending, not necessarily THE Skywalker's.

If they want to truly cut all ties to the Skywalker lineage and keep their promise that The Rise of Skywalker is the last film in the Skywalker saga, Kylo will have to die. But this is Disney, and I’m sure they’ll at least want to leave it open enough for there to be the potential for more films in the future.

Kylo’s death isn’t necessary for Episode IX to be a satisfying end to the Skywalker saga. But it would allow them to definitively end it without having to kill their main protagonist, assuming Rey isn’t revealed as a Solo or a Skywalker in The Rise of Skywalker. Ultimately, though, I think the Skywalker saga can have a satisfying end with Kylo dead or alive –– it all depends on how they do it.

    No, it absolutely doesn't.

The Rise of Skywalker being the official "End of the Skywalker Saga" simply means that Lucasfilm is moving Star Wars beyond the "Episode" films and into an era where the story of the Skywalkers is over for good.

I know there are fans out there who continue to think that there will, at some point, be more "Skywalker Saga"/"Episodic" films, but I just don't see any evidence of that other than 'wishful thinking'.

If Lucasfilm had even the slightest intention of ever returning to the "Episodic"/"Skywalker Saga" films, TRoS would not have been unequivocally announced as being the end of that particular branch of the SW franchise.

Why no poll, OP? Tis a great question.

Ending the SAGA does not mutually include killing off the son of Han and Princess-General Leia Amidala-Skywalker-Organa-Solo.

Just realized that I finally found a Star Wars name longer than THRAWN's.

    I hope so.
Sorry. To me that would make the Skywalkers even more special. But I bet they'll leave the door open one way or another.
