Does the First Order not have TIE Interceptors or Bombers?

The lack of Interceptors/Bombers is quite glaring in Battlefront II. Well, for the Interceptor class in the game they used the elite FO TIE Fighters (the ones with red marking). As for bombers - they are not available for the FO and the Resistance, which is weird, because all remaining factions have them. So if you like to play as bombers the most, it sucks for you when you're assigned to a FO vs Resistance map.

Theoretically they could come up with something for the game, but it is clear and understandable why LFL didn't allow for this. They can't restrict future filmmakers. I'm sure J.J. will want to come up with new ships.

Now, I don't disagree with the general arguments, but it always seemed to me that the bombs in previous movies were either energy-based or propelled somehow. Is that not the case? They have blue glow around them that the bombs in the new movie didn't. Still, I always chalked up things like the Star Destroyers crashing to the fact that everything has a gravitational pull. So, the bigger the thing, the bigger the pull. Once a Star Destroyer loses its ability to lift itself, it makes sense that gravity would pull it towards, say, a Death Star.

Similarly, those bombs from Paige's ship seem small enough that a Dreadnaught would pull them. Also, there is gravity INSIDE the bombers, fighters, etc. So, y'know, somehow this universe has figured out gravity in ways we can't comprehend. Also there is that blurb someone else posted. So, yea, of the many, MANY plot holes in TLJ, bombs with gravity is no longer a big one to me.

Please don't try and figure out physics in ANY of the SW movies or the SW Universe.

There is a reason it is a Sci-Fi Fantasy.

Newtonian Physics alone , i.e. time dilation, would render any storylines or timelines null and void.

Even sci-fi fantasy is a stretch. It's pure fantasy.
It's not far off just being damn fairy tale tbh

I remember DJ showing Finn a hologram that had TIE interceptors and bombers in the movie. We never saw any physical versions of these ships.

Like others have said, there was a promotional picture before the movie that had First Order TIE Bombers at Crait. (It was even on the poster that I got from Force Friday this year.) It seems the Battle of Crait was changed a lot during development, as there were no AT-HH's shown in the movie either.

People who play with bombers are always very sad people, they're the same ones rolling the heavy class all the time. :p Get rekt noobs!

On a more serious note. As you can see in the movie, the Tie/SF's actually function as fighter bombers. They take out the Raddus' main bridge quite easily. They already are fighter bombers, like the JSF. Dice just turned them into interceptors because they lack imagination.

    Yes, Dice lacks imagination. :p

They are magnetic. The bombs from the Resistance bombers are magnetically charged. That's the shrieking sound you hear when one of the bombing commanders says "bombs armed".

There was a TIE interceptor among the hologram schematics on the arms dealer's stolen ship.

About the Resistance bomber gravity thing, how do we know they aren't forcefully ejected in a downward trajectory? If you thrust something into space, won't it continue going in the direction it was ejected?

Yes they have them but not seen yet.

In the Holo DJ showed Fin an arms merchant sold Interceptors & Bombers 2 the FO.

The FO bomber lacks the bomb chute of the Imperial bomber. The Interceptor looks the same but may have its twin ion engines positioned 12:00 6:00 like the TIE/fo instead of 3:00 9:00 on the old TIE/ln.

That is a very interesting point. I have never seen any other tie bombers or interceptors. What would be cool is that they will make a big cameo in episode 9 maybe in a big fight at the end or something. Or possibly just earlier in the movie. I actually really like the interceptors and I would really like to see them in the film
