    SPOILER(maybe):
    It's speculative which is something I don't like to indulge in, but what if...
    Clues to EP7's plot & storyline are in TESB and ROTJ? Hmmm?
    I was thinking about the often maligned "Magic Tree" scene in TESB where Luke sees Vader then swipes his light saber, knocking Vader's helmet to the ground, revealing: LUKE'S face!
    What if that strange vision(scene) was fore-shadowing of later(30 years later) events in his life?
    Or what if the younger main characters of EP7 search out Luke, find out the "Luke Skywalker" is really evil & there is a sinister plan disrupting the whole fragile galaxy BUT in a 3rd act/climax twist it's revealed Luke isn't Luke Skywalker at all but a fake cyborg/clone! The REAL Luke is imprisoned or in exile and must come back to clear his name or face off against the evil forces bent on total control of the galaxy. This plot could set up EP8 or resolve the mystery of why Luke went AWOL or was considered a menace.
    It's a lot to take in but when you process it all, it blends into the OT scenes/dialogue.

    Interesting... at first, I was laughing at your opening line, "but what if...Clues to EP7's plot & storyline are in TESB and ROTJ?" I thought, duh... of course what happened is gonna be a gateway to what will happen...

    But, now that you mention it... yeah, that does kinda fit. I do think that, at the time, it meant no more than, "if you give in to anger you will become that which you seek to overcome" The way you put it though... if you look at my Zorro theory, you will see that I say something similar in that Luke becomes more Vaderesque, but he is not evil...

    Follow me. I know I posted another "Vader" thread not long ago, but I think this deserves its own.

    Facts:

    Vader is not only a cashable character for Disney, he is CENTRAL to the Star Wars Saga. How can JJ & Co make a dead character the center of Episode VII.

    My theory is, not only Vader plays an important role in Episode VII, he is the basis of the whole plot.

    Redeemed in Return Of The Jedi; Vader returned as jedi Anakin Skywalker and overthrown the Emperor, thus, left TWO characters in legacy before Episode VII begins. One character is Anakin Skywalker, the fallen Jedi that saved the galaxy from the Sith Emperor (A secret well kept and maybe only Luke knows about it), the other: Darth Vader, lord of the Sith murderer, Jedi hunter, killed at the hands of Rebels.

    One of the two characters (VADER) is seen as a hero of the Empire by nostalgic and obsessed loyalists. He was one of the many who brought order to the galaxy by ending the Clone Wars and building the Empire. He is like Adolf Hitler to young neo-nazis that want to become like him. One (Driver?), force sensitive?!?, may be obsessed by Vader and wants to become like him.

    The other character, Anakin, is a force ghost. What if Anakin's ghost is the one that pull back from or prevent Luke from falling to the dark side. What if Anakin plays a role, in Episode VII, to destroy what the legacy of Vader created on the other side (Driver?, something else).

    I really see an Anakin vs Vader (not physically but, the two Legacies) confronting at the end of this episode.

    I merged this thread with the Elements of the Sequel Trilogy thread, seemed like a better fit for it.

    I think the ST is gonna play out in many ways like the PT. Which is interesting cuz of how many people dislike the PT. Which is why I posted about the role of the Stormtrooper. Now Stormtroopers are the coolest looking bad guy army.........but I can almost see them serving the Republic again in the ST. Cool post \m/
