I know we fans are taking this to much serious, those are just a films.

But those are outrageous insults to fictional character of Luke Skywalker as we fans have known him. This is the man that brough down 2 most powerfull Sith ever, by his decision and bravery to face them. More so, by his strong unshaken belief in victory of the Light over Darkness. He came victorious from ep .VI. and saw himself that he can win, that good defeats evil if one is persistant and brave. And look in what he turns out to be in ep VIII (looking superficialy )?

However you turn it, you and people of your opinion must acknowledge, just as auhtors of the Film, that what has been done(undone) to Luke Skywalker is unbarable especially because it was unnecessary . I do not know proportion but I know many people who literally vomited on what was done to Luke, (those who were accepting those superficial interpretations as truth and that there is nothing else in this Luke's story arc.)

That is why I still have hope, until the last day, that this is not how it looks on the surface, there is something else beneath it, coming in ep IX, something like I described in previous posts.

No need to get offensive now. Everyone has the right for an own opinion. For me Luke was handled pretty well in TLJ. It's actually one of the few things I really like about TLJ.

Do not get me wrong please. I am not blaming you, anyone personally.Maybe Rian Johnson simply thought its cool.I know that people who in my eyes are insulting Luke Skywalker do not do this because they hate Luke Skywalker, they just do not see importance of connection and coherence, and want story to develop further between Rey and Kylo and who cares about Luke. For them (you) story justiffies any sacrifice, including Luke. That is reasonable, like when I was buying commics as a kid, and only wanted new episode, who care about old.

For me personaly however, and many others,it does not fit, that is why there is term backlash.
If Rey is not Luke's daughter(because this makes Luke's life fulfilled ) portraying Luke as it was made in ep VIII was bad and unnecessary approach with consequences that are still not fully predictable.

I am not dirrector, but if I would decide for Luke to go in my film, man he will go in creshendo anlike ever seen in cinematography. Even If I would hate Luke as a character, I would still want money to, this way I would do it to give Star Wars fans last Luke's fight, epic, in flesh. I would make him powerfull, crushing AT-AT's and pulling TIE fighters from the sky while clearing ranks of the First Order after last stregth leaves him, and than heroic death, taking Snoke with him of course.

That would be death that makes legends, and money, and better position to move on..
And episode IX could be absolutely the same .
So Lukes arc especially way he died was totally unncesseary and compromising, unless Rey is Skywalker, of course, in this case it all suddenly fitts together and turns in one of the greatest twist in cinematographic histoy that will be celebrated forever.

Luke's training has always been a problem for me in regard to the Original Trilogy.

Luke has been by some interpretations trained for almost 2 years by Yoda, not in continuity of course.

Some canon experts claim that subspace travel of Millenium Falcon from Hoth to Bespin lasted few months, so this are let say 2-3 months of initial training for Luke on Dagobah, before he faced Vader on Bespin, and he was not very trained then though.

Between episode V. and VI. there is gap of at least one year , some think more in which Luke received further training from Yoda.

And that's an inuslt for me because I don't sacrifice Luke. Luke is my favorite Star Wars character beside Kylo Ren. Btw I wanted Luke to be even "worse" than in TLJ. I would have made him (and Ben) the murderer of Rey's parents to parallel the story of ANH/TESB. But I'm pretty satisfied with the Luke we got (except for the humor).

And this is boring, do you know why? Because if Luke is that powerful, then there is no need for a new generation of heroes. People finally need to understand this!

Don't get me wrong, but I'm glad you aren't a director or story teller.

    of course
You like Luke and don't sacrifice Luke, but would make Luke even weaker, jet , still strong enough to be able to lift lightsaber to kill parents of Rey.(who were of course , nobody)(epic fail)
You mean like new centuries old character Snoke who died for other new characters to develop themselves?. Gosh this concept requers ritual sacrifice of not just old characters, but actually inventing more old(but new) character , becase of need to have enough sacrifices for new characters to develop further.

Disney would be happy with me now, I am wise enough to make product for the main custommers profile that I expect to actually buy my product.that mean avoiding things they don't like., and its not so hard.

Example: you make film..please tell me what on Earth could make someone believe that custommers would like to see beloved Jedi Master Luke Skywalker milks docile sea creatures to obtain their milk that is , by the face of Luke when he sips it, a fermented and little shaky, still visible on his beard?
Or, Priness Leia( which in Bloodline novel we released few months ago) never uses the Force and barely senses its presence, to suddenly survive vacuum of Space and than...we all know this incident of the scene.
I mean why on Earth they think that every shock is good shock?. The same is with Rey nobody., is it so difficult, when she must not be powerful Skywalker at all(which will be logical), than at least to show to the all the progressive people of the world that by persistance and training one can acheive everything.? But no, Rey gets instant powers on a level of chosen one Anakin Skywalker and kicks ass of everything around, including poor old Luke Skywalker.
Or, why on Earth to make most perspective character in the film, Ben Solo, to kill his own father, but wait, killing was "ok" but it was not because he was decieved by Snoke instead, after he kills old crapy Snoke it turns out the reason he killed his father Han was this: why not. And custommer actually love Han, we actually make more films about Han.But we also want custommers to love Ben, who killed Han because of why not.

Memes and wishful thinking aren't evidence.

Even if you REALLY REALLY want it.

Yes I desperately want it.That is obvious.
But not because of my preference but because I want thing to be logic and plausible to be able to enjoy in films.

A struggling and failed character is much stronger in regards of story telling than an overpowered force god.

*cough* Obi Wan Kenobi in ANH *cough*

I wouldn't have included that either. That's all what I can tell you.

Yes, Rey isn't the best character in this ST. But making her a Skywalker would be even cheaper if you ask me. Maybe Anakin wasn't the chosen one after all. Btw when did Rey kick Luke's ass? I remember Luke toying around with her very easily. Only as soon as Rey took her lightsaber he stop fighting because he got nothing to defend for.

Well writen bad guys think they are doing the right thing. Just saying. But if you would watch the scene more carefully, then you would know why it is "okay". From a buisness view it actually made sense to kill off Han in the ST. Now everyone wants to go watch the new Solo movie even more.

Your logic is kinda flawed because you're changing your mind quite often.

He felt that teaching new Jedi would only bring about new Sith. He understood there must always be balance between light and dark. He didn't want to try Ben, but he did because Leia was losing Ben to the dark side. She thought Luke could help him. Luke could not although he tried. So instead of fighting his nephew further, he decided to end the Jedi order so that its presence could not bring about evil. He expected himself to be the perfect Jedi and a legend because that's how the galaxy viewed him. He was not ready for the burden of being that person. A Jedi does not crave to be in the limelight or be a legend. He cut himself off from the Force so he couldn't be found and so he couldn't fall pry to the dark side that has always been in him.

Yoda taught Luke one final lesson, that failure is the best teacher of all. That Luke wasn't any less of a Jedi and that all he did was not for naught just because he failed with his nephew. He taught Luke that sometimes masters make mistakes. They are not infallible. And thus they must continue to learn from the mistakes and then let go instead of holding on. Luke decides then that Yoda is correct, but instead of taking up a light saber to fight, he does the Jedi thing. He allows the dark side to be over confident and defeat itself. It mirrors him throwing the saber of away in ROTJ. He stays true to himself as a Jedi and does the single greatest act of sacrifice any Jedi has done, since Anakin sacrificed himself to save Luke.

Boy....Luke sure was given a raw deal by Rian Johnson.....

yes, Rian presented Luke as a full failure and made him useless for 30 years in which he did not achieve anything. :(

This is an untrue statement. We know very little about Luke’s 30 years. You are just using the little we know...the tragic part.

He collected a lot of force relicts and wisdom. Furthermore he rebuilt the Jedi order. He did much more than Yoda and Obi-Wan. They were just waiting... So maybe you should blame George Lucas.

If everyone agreed on what is plausible and logical in stories there would be no such things as opinions.

That said. Your Rey HAS to be a Skywalker theories go against the evidence.

We didn't need Darth Plagueis like you wanted.
We didn't need strange aliens from outside the galaxy like you had "proved" previously
We don't need Rey to have a particular parentage or not.
