Some crew names are starting to emerge on the IMDB page for EP8 . I don't see many names that worked on EP7 listed ( yet , mind you ). New art director , concept artists and cinematographer and everything .They all seem to be the same type of a-list kind of people though , meaning people at the top of their game who has worked on all the latest big budget action/sci fi movies . (Avengers , Spectre and stuff like that).

Im not very knowledgeable when it comes to movie making ,is this common practice when making a trilogy to change crews between films? Should i be worried ? Whats your thoughts on this ?

With a new Director comes many new crew members. However, ILM will be the same. Ben Burtt will almost surely be involved. John Williams is probably going to score it. I understand the notion that it might be weird and different to have a different group of people making this but I think there is enough consistency in positions that matter a lot, like KK being involved, it will be just as good. And go watch Looper. Rian Johnson did amazing work in that film and I would assume most of that crew will be on board for VIII.

There's always turnover with new directors. They want their own Camera operators, cinematographers, editors, all that. That's exactly what happened with Irvin Kershner in ESB.

It's a little more than I expected, but yes, with new directors come new department heads... It's normal.

We are just used to the tremendous continuity that came with the crew of the Prequels. I think it's going to be a drastically different movie than TFA. TFA seems like a fast paced, lean, speedy movie, and I think VIII a will be slower and darker, it should be a character based film that takes us deep into back stories. I'm not too worried about the crew changing.

I think it's a time thing, following a tight Time-Schedule: 'since preproduction already have started on ep.8 & post is not finished on ep.7 they need a new crew for some posts to have a new film ready in 2 years. But I think that when it is time to start filming ep. 8 a lot of people will be finished with ep.7 & start working on 8 , meanwhile other people need to do preproduction,,, I don't know if that is the case, but it would make sense & i think it would be cool with a slightly different cinematic tone in the film

as @It's a Trap said: ep.7 will probably be fastpaced & ep. 8 more mysterious & darker, mirroring ESB & also reveal the bad guys properly as we will probably not know to much about them in the end of ep.7 . Luke emerging as the "yoda" :p & snoke as the "palpatine"

Yeah, I imagine the people who will be working closest with the Director on a day to day basis, the director would want it to be people they know/trust. JJ's got his people, Johnson has his, etc.

Definitely a departure from the prequel era... even the concept artists were basically the same throughout the whole trilogy.

I'd say this is not that different from the OT, really; different directors, different visions. To be honest, it's hard to say if this is something I like/dislike until I've actually seen TFA.

I must admit I'm a little worried,I try not to be cos I try to be as positive as I Can when it comes to star wars, that being said I always felt it would be cool if JJ carried the torch the whole way through,I believe in him because he loves the story and he's clearly passionate about his art,I would like a fluidness and defined continuum to the trilogy .there's nothing quite like a band of people coming together for a cause they believe in to create something amazing,if the love is there the magic keeps happening.being positive again ,I have to see it like @It's a Trap, the middle movie has to be different maybe.I just hope the makers leave the ego at the door and make something beautiful and not something Hollywood,I hope they truly reflect on the importance of this incredible story, not just for us but for humanities history in general, once it is written and produced it is there forever.
Long live star wars, and god speed KK
