It can be translated into English in two different ways. Either "Birth of a Hero" or, much more interestingly "A Hero is Born," which I like much more, because it gives me hope we'll see Kylo ruin an awards ceremony which Rey attends and during which she wins, maybe even by wetting his pants. And that it will feature multiple pop ballads and maybe even a song about male butts. Or that Daisy Ridley will go full Streisand and demand Rey to be dressed in her own private clothes. INTO IT!

Same! I adore the title The Last Jedi

I just found it probably the coolest title any SW movie can ever have and hoping JJ can beat that ( not sure how ).

I thought TLJ was the best tile as well. And when it was presented in red typeface, for me, really set it off.
Birth of a Hero? Nahhhh. I don't like it either. JJ can do better than that for the last installment of the Skywalker saga IMO.

Exactly. Is there any special events coming up from now till January? Lucasfilm announced the title of Episode VIII on January 23, 2017.

This is far fetched but a short teaser during Super Bowl just for the title???

I don't remember when eight's first footage dropped. However, Super Bowl teaser to get us ready for Celebration would make sense.

Thought the same! However, one side of me just wants to watch the first footage during Celebration due to having the anticipation to get everyone together to be fever pitched.

At the same time, it'll be good for the wider general public to know the title of the movie through a higher profile event like Super Bowl. Maybe a TV spot would be amazing for that building up with footage from previous films ( like how the others have mentioned ) and end it with a title reveal.

The ideal situation would be :

February ( Super Bowl ) - TV Spot, Title Reveal

    April ( SW Celebration ) - Teaser Trailer #1 ( Avengers: Endgame attachment )

July - Trailer #1 ( The Lion King attachment )

    August ( D23 ) - Behind-The-Scenes Trailer

    October ( Monday Night Football ) - Trailer #2 ( Frozen 2 attachment )

Though, they can just take out the July trailer and place the Teaser Trailer #1 attached in front of The Lion King.

This marketing campaign would of course be more intense than The Last Jedi, Solo, Rogue One and closer to The Force Awakens ( or even more ).

They have always dropped the title independently and before any teasers for all the other Disney SW films. They are not likely going to change it for IX. JJ relaeased the TFA title after filming was done. If he follows the same pattern it may not be until the end of February or beginning of March before we get the title. If that is the case Celebration may be the first time we get a teaser.

The only Disney SW movie to be marketed during the Super Bowl was Solo and that was a special case. The release of the movie was only 3-4 months away and they had done zero marketing for it at that time. I don’t think we will see anything at the Super Bowl.

I hope we get something soon but I’m not sure it is going to happen.

The titlle for TLJ was released in 1.23.2017. I think the same will happen for IX. I dont think they will release it with superbowl.

No reason to pay the $ to advertise during Super Bowl for a film coming out in December. I do think a teaser shouldnt wait until Celebration, but Super Bowl isnt right place for it.
