    Not sure how I feel about Maul in Rebals, but maybe now his story will be wrapped up. So excited for these next episodes.

    Why does the ally have to be maul rather than say....a temple guard? Why would maul join the fight against vader?

    You're right, we're kind of jumping to that conclusion. I think it's reasonable, though. We know he makes an appearance and it seems as though he and Ezra have some kind of connection. As to why he would do it... great question! No idea.

    I still think the "new ally" is Maul, but you're right; we really don't know.

    i agree this is as likely a possibility and you bring up a good point. However, the reason why maul is a strong possibility is that the trailer implies he is in the episode with vader,ahsoka and the sith holocron, which seems to be the 1hr finale; hence the theories. That might turn out to be wrong because of the way the trailer was cut of course ;)
