    I would still like her to discover that her staff she found on Jakku was actually an ancient Sith Saber that no longer has Kyber in it. The ends of it resemble light sabers.

    If Kylo must be redeemed, first I’d like him to find one of Vader’s crimson sabers to use. Then as he is turning to the light I would like to see him reverse bleed the red out of the Saber, returning it to its natural color. What ever that was. Perhaps half way by turning it to Purple and use it to kill Palpatine which would tie it back to Mace Windue and the moment Anakin went Dark.

    I had the exact same idea a while back! The original lightsaber color of his (now) cross guard saber was blue btw.

    From the teaser it looks like Luke's old saber has simply been repaired, which I think it totally lame. Why have this "wow" moment of it being broken in half just to have it returned to its original status? Maybe there's more to it, storywise, even though it still looks the same, but I was hoping for Rey to have a new one or do something different to the old one.

    I'm hoping it will be symbolic of Rey... repairing, or rejoining the broken Skywalker line.

    By the same token, perhaps JJ and co thought that perhaps making a new lightsaber might seem too gimmicky. Haha.

    I guess there is a parallel in Rey repairing the broken lightsaber and Kylo repairing his broken helmet.

    I know the Jedi temple guards carried double-bladed yellow lightsabers. Since Rey is the new caretaker of the ancient Jedi texts, I was hoping she would end up with a similar lightsaber, but looks like that wont happen.

    That doesn't mean it won't happen by the end of the film, but I'm not gonna curse the filmmakers for not doing it. I mostly want to see a live action saber get constructed.

    A montage intercutting between Kylo reconstructing his mask and Rey fixing the Skywalker saber would be thrilling. Kylo's scenes would be loud and aggressiv while Rey's scenes would be quiet and calm.

    Anakin's lightsaber was severely damaged in ATTACK OF THE CLONES and seemingly repaired it following the first Battle of Geonosis. The concept of repairing a lightsaber is something the films have touched upon before, albeit that happened off screen.
