Seeing how TLJ is framed as an origo gentis narrative focusing on the 'rebirth of the rebellion' as if it were a people, I have no doubt IX will have rebellion or resistance in its title. Perhaps even a single word:

    Star Wars Episode IX: Rebellion

Star Wars: Milk Does the Body Good

Seriously though, Im still leaning towards Spark of Hope. I think starting and ending the saga with "Hope" would be good.

I love Star Wars: Spark of Hope as well.

I was wondering, when will they officially announce the title of the movie? Should we expect a small teaser at the end of this year ( like in 2014 ), or maybe in January 2019 ( like The Last Jedi? ). Unless, they want to starve us really badly and get that hype up at new levels and only announce it during Star Wars Celebration. :)

Eggscellent question! I would go with somewhere during or after the Holiday Season, say Dec 2018 - Feb 2019. Unlike previous years, we will not have a Dec. Star Wars Movie in 2019 to worry about stealing limelight from or confusing movies. So I think it will be a good time for a little teaser maybe. We did get the teaser for TFA the day after Thanksgiving in 2014, a year before it was released. May see something for IX around that time.

EPIX will be released in Dec of 2019. That's confirmed.

I think we'll get a title in February of 2019 and the first teaser at SWC.

    Star Wars: The Last Hope

Because its a title that only copies from previous films. It will of course start with "The" and therefore the ST will be the first trilogy where every film starts with "The" - very generic, boring and stupid. "Last" copies from TLJ, and "Hope" copies from ANH. Essentially its the most uninspiring title yet. I can totally see it happening.

In all honesty it's not that bad a title.

Honestly, I could totally see this or a title along the lines of it. In my opinion, it's not that bad, but The Final Hope would be better - doesn't sound quite as repetitive, makes the stakes seem higher, and sort of gives a "grand finale" feeling, if this is indeed the end of the Skywalker saga.

I don't think so. It will remain the same. Older generations are leaving and newer ones are coming. This is how life goes. "Soon" we will probably talk about a new family and the majority will link this family or characters with Star Wars much more than with the Skywalkers.

chosen bloodlines stuff sounds so much like the belief of Arian races. That's scary kind of weird in all honesty. I'm in the UK I even think the royal family is a bit peculiar.

That's a good point (even though Star Wars: Rebellion is already both a 90s PC game and a fantastic board game from 2 years ago).

Makes me wonder- if that's the case, the Sequel Trilogy almost feels like a bridge between the OT and something else, rather than its own standalone thing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the current movies, but I do get the impression that IX could lead into a larger Star Wars world.

Really? Star Wars was never as big as now. You can find Star Wars every where. You can hear kids talking about Star Wars. Just recently I heard some kids talking about Rebels. No, the saga is gaining a lot of new fans.

Ughhh... toys? That's still the metric we're going by?

I guess you could say sales for the ViewMaster are stagnant too, if we're going to ignore trends across all media and not just pretend like Star Wars exists in a vacuum.

Don't get me wrong, Star Wars toys were and are awesome, but kids aren't as into to action figures as previous generations. That's across the board, from Marvel to Barbie.
