    100% it was a rumored title on these boards in 2014. it clearly didn't come to fruition.. but for a while it was the hot topic around these parts.

    it would have made sense to have been a title contender for TMP though.. more sense than Phantom Menace actually if you ask me lol (never did like that title)

    Someone else has the feeling the next Celebration will be the mother of all Celebrations?

    The title probably will hit before that but with all actors involved and the hype for next projects, I think we will get footage from IX (obviously), footage from The Mandalorian, and the confirmation of a third spin off.

    I can already hear the crowd from here...

    Excuse me for the joke. With all the critics of JJ's The Force Awakens and how it's a reboot of A New Hope, and then we get The Last Jedi by Rian. It would be kinda funny with JJ if we get...

    In the "your ideas for episode IX plot" thread, a cool idea is born : a new threat comes, and the old enemies (Jedi and Sith, at least, their current heir Kylo and Rey) are forced to ally in order to fight it. So, episode IX can close the door to the Skywalker saga and open a field for new stories and movies.

    Considering this kind of plot, and playing with the words of the first episodes of each trilogy so far,
    that could give :

    EPISODE IX : A NEW MENACE AWAKENS

    They want to sell EPIX as the final movie of the Skywalker saga. This wouldn't sound very final to me. "One Last Menace" would sound more like it, but I don't really like the term "menace".

    It’s mainly because for both TFA & TLJ they released the title just after they finished principal filming & that is due this month for Episode IX.

    It's funny you say that because I was trying to think of a title based off my (very limited and based off rumors) knowledge of the plot and I kept thinking to myself "too bad 'Return of the Jedi' has already been used...."

    I guess I know (and I like) your reasoning behind that possible title...
    But I don't think something "dark" as fear (or something else) will be in title.
    I believe it will be a "positive/hopeful" title.

    But I have not idea. Or i have too many ideas.

    The last one being... "Binary sunrise".

    There is actually already an episode of Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures called "Return of the Return of the Jedi."

    So technically, episode IX would have to be "Return of the Return of the Return of the Jedi."
