    People were posing that perhaps the next generation of Jedi will be called Skywalkers. Or maybe Rey adopts the name Skywalker out of respect for Luke? LOTS OF POSSIBILITIES. Love it.

    I'll go wild with my headcanon (from a couple of years now)....
    It's Anakin that is coming back in flesh and blood. Reborn.
    Leia and Kylo/Ben will die. We'll think the bloodline is done.. and then that will be "imply" somehow.

    I just thumbed through this entire thread, and I don't think anybody guessed it. There are a zillion "Rise of [Something]"s and a zillion "[Something] of Skywalker" but I can't find anyone who guessed The Rise of Skywalker. @Jaxxon guessed "The Fall of the Skywalkers," which is close.

    So.... anyone care to start the speculation on what the title means or what might happen in the movie based on the panel and the trailer? It’s going to be tough to figure anything out from that, given that the teasers generally don’t give a lot away, but “The Rise Of Skywalker” is a bit obscure- it could refer to Skywalker as a title of a person, a kind of Grey Jedi (as a trained Force-user rather than a general Force-sensitive).

    I certainly hope the story involves Rey finding a Sith and a Jedi holocron in order to have a more full and rounded understanding of the past in order to avoid making the same mistakes again, but at the same time being able to make better informed decisions on her path so as not to repeat the same mistakes as those who have gone before her. I wonder if she’ll be guided towards setting up her own academy by the end of the movie under these new guidelines as well?

    Yeah, I got "the Rise of" right, which was a blatant mirroring of the ep.III & ep.VI titles, trying to line up the anagrams, hehe. (I.e. I needed a cool, previously unused R-word).

    I would never have guessed "The Rise of Skywalker", however :)

    Ok, so I’ve been speculating here....

    We know from https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2018/08/matt-smith-star-wars-episode-ix.html that Matt Smith has been signed up for a role in TRoS (I’ve never written that abbreviation before! That was pretty cool.), but everyone’s been very hush-hush about his involvement. His IMDb page doesn’t even list the movie in his credits, for example.

    We also know from the Legends stories, which have been borrowed from in other small details in the ST, that Palpatine had an army of clones made for him in order to stay alive and in control as long as possible.

    Now I’m just “spitballing” here, but could Matt Smith end up being the Emperor’s clones??
