OFFICIAL NEWS Episode VII Subtitle Revealed!!

Why the Force should need awakens? Still not convinced with the title. I was expecting something like DARK AWAKENING.

 

So when do we all get badges saying we were here when "the force awakened"

 

I like it. I like is A LOT more than "Ancient Fear." Even thought the Jedi have been around for thousands of years there are still new tricks to learn concerning the force. Qui Gon Jinn discovered the force ghost trick as late as TPM. I've heard rumors that Luke has become so strong in the force that he can move mountains. I think whatever the meaning of the new title may be it refers to Luke and the new Jedi Order. After all we saw Luke prevail in ROTJ but we never really got to see the Jedi return. To have a title like ROTJ and never have a resurgence of the Jedi doesn't make sense. To me "awakens" suggests a change from what we knew of the force before as well as a return of a new generation of light side users. I think Luke has learned something new concerning the force and we will see it in the next film along with plenty of new Jedi. We need to see the new threat grow over the next three movies. Like A New Hope this will introduce the new characters, bring us up to speed with the old ones and hint at the new danger to come while the first minor villain is dispatched.

I am so curious now what they actually mean with the title. I fear for my sleep tonight. Gonna be pondering some.

The title makes the Force sound like an entity, not an energy field.

If you think about it, the force hasn't really been around much since the middle of ROTS

 

I think of it as an untapped energy source... that does have a will of some sort. Having one apparently fullblown Jedi (Luke) and not much else as an outlet for the force... I can see it needing it to be used, being unused by Luke, it starts messing with him, willing him into action, while he resists for personal reasons. The Force needs to flow.

 

The force goes the CENSORED back to sleep (it's a parody of SOMETHING that involved an actor from the prequels)

 

I believe that's the point. My theory about the ST is that it is going to deal with the balancing of the force, so this title does make sense to me.

Well, yes, Qui-Gon Jinn was a big fan of the Will of the Force. He knew things no one else spoke much about, called it the Living Force...so maybe there will be some connection to him/his teachings? Not that I need PT links, but Qui was the guy who found out about cheating death (funny how we saw him cheat Watto), the odd Jedi out so to speak. Just some random thoughts. Now where is that teaser? I want it. I want it noow

 

I don't interpret the title as the force itself being awakened, but rather the force awakening someone or something. This is logical given that it's been well established that the force is "everywhere".

But that's not what it says. The other titles have been straight forward.

It says the force not the force awakins X. Like I said earlier if it would have said a force awakens you may be on to somthing.

 

About 0% as the movie was likely shipped last week and your local theater has already screened it themselves and the trailer hasn't been mentioned. I could be wrong as it COULD be downloaded tonight for digital projection but I doubt it.

 

Here's an interesting quote ...

That's it! They have only given us the partial title. When officially announced it will be The Force Awakens Wicket W. Warrick

...but seriously, it can mean that the force does awaken something. Like "the force awakens" (a higher level of awareness) or (goodness in people) or (people's sensitivity) etc,
