Episode VIII has started filming, but may face delays due to lighting technician revolt

    It apparently has started filming, but is one of the 8 films that would be delayed if a deal between Warner Bros. and the lighting technicians isn't approved. If the deal doesn't go through, filming for Episode VIII will not occur this weekend as production will temporarily shut down.

    "Bectu will take the offer to its members, who will vote electronically on whether to accept the terms by the end of today and if they do, shooting will go ahead.

    Should they reject the deal the productions will be forced to shut down from the weekend. Among the films affected, according to Bectu, is Star Wars: Episode VIII, which recently started shooting and follows the huge success last month of its predecessor."

    What's Bectu? Also, I said weeks ago how it would star by January 23rd, 2016. Here are other grips. Why would this affect VIII who knows but it won't. Unions differ as far as I Know .

    Did you read the article? It directly states that it would affect VIII. And the January 23rd was just a guess, right? Unless you have a source for that particular date I'm going to say that you just guessed based off of the "late January" estimations.

    I heard that it was being delayed until sometime in February (allegedly due to the rewrites). But don't quote me on that.

    Disney only made a few Billion dollars off TFA... they can't afford the 20% raise for the lighting crew.

    It not disney this seams to be an ongoing dispute between the lighting crew who work on individual contracts & the production companies organisation

    The warner bros part came up because the negotiations were held at WB Leavesden studio (Best known for the Harry Potter films)

    Oh just pay the lighting people already. I'd prefer that the Wonder Woman movie also not be delayed because of this.

    Yeah when was the last time blast like this EVER affected a major production one way or the other this will be over as quickly as it started
