SPECULATION Episode VIII title/trailer Release Schedule?

Title in February. Teaser during SWC.

 

Title between january and April.

First teaser April 13 at SW Celebration.

 

Kathy Kennedy made a comment in an interview the other day that info on VIII would be coming "soon", but said they are going to give Rogue One some breathing room. Not very specific!

Personally, all I want is the title. I could do without teasers and trailers, and instead go into the movie completely unknowing of anything. The problem is, they do release trailers and I am too weak to refrain from watching them!!!

 

Well KK said we'll hear more about E8 in the spring. They want to give R1 time to breathe and it makes sense for a bit of space between the two. If it's too relentless people will get fatigued by Star Wars (not me though). It would be better to build anticipation.

I think they'll skip a teaser this time and jump straight in with the new trailer and title at SWC.

Yeah they will want the focus on Rogue One for the mean time, until at least late April when the Blu Ray comes out. So I wouldn't be surprised if they release the trailer for EPVIII a week or so after the Blu Ray drops, so I reckon the month of April is the one to watch. But I think we'll start to see the "Leaked" photos from Jan onwards.

1. Title to be released on the anniversary of filming (Feb 15th)

2. Teaser Trailer to debut at Celebration. I just don't see how they release footage before celebration. They aren't showing two teasers within one month, and after some criticism of celebration london, they will want to make this celebration feel like the TFA one.

 

You're all forgeting Star Wars is officially 40 years old on 25th May 2017. Something ought to happen that day.

 

Celebration Europe (London) had no exclusives, no decent exhibitions, props or costumes. It was just another big merchandise (toy) trade fair again, exactly like the last time there in 2007.

All the good stuff was obviously being saved up for Celebration 2017 in the US, because arrogant LFL seems to think only home-grown Americans are worthy enough for their new exclusives.

If you also research the dates of the major Saga films, you'll note they always coincide with a Celebration event inside the US too, never in Europe, Asia or Oceania.

 

After watching Collider Movie Talk today, I have a feeling that during the Super Bowl they will just show the title card and boom it's over. I would go crazy over that

From what i saw from a few media outlets, they criticised that Rebels seemingly stole the whole event with thrawn and the movies panel / future film panel didn't live up to the hype as they were very conservative on saying much. Thus it felt like the only real talking point was thrawn.

Possibly a title before Celebration some time. "Teaser" during Celebration. I don't even think they'll show a trailer, but possibly some behind-the-scenes footage for VIII like Rogue One. Or, footage to introduce the new characters. A trailer in the summer, then early fall and November.
